The Sin-Bearing Messiah

Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

Хто б повірив тому, що ми чули? Кому рамено Господнє об'явилось?

For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no [a]form or [b]comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no [c]beauty that we should desire Him.

Він, мов той пагін, виріс перед нами, мов корінь із землі сухої. Не було в ньому ні виду, ні краси, — ми бачили його, — ні вигляду принадного не було в ньому.

He is despised and [d]rejected by men,
A Man of [e]sorrows and acquainted with [f]grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Зневажений, останній між людьми, чоловік болів, що зазнав недуги; немов людина, що перед нею обличчя закривають, зневажений, і ми його нізащо мали.

Surely He has borne our [g]griefs
And carried our [h]sorrows;
Yet we [i]esteemed Him stricken,
[j]Smitten by God, and afflicted.

Та він наші недуги взяв на себе, він ніс на собі наші болі. Ми ж, ми гадали, що його покарано, що Бог його побив, принизив.

But He was wounded[k] for our transgressions,
He was [l]bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes[m] we are healed.

Він же був поранений за гріхи наші, роздавлений за беззаконня наші. Кара, що нас спасає, була на ньому, і його ранами ми вилікувані.

All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord [n]has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Усі, як вівці, ми блукали; кожен ходив своєю дорогою; провини нас усіх Господь поклав на нього.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.

Його мордовано, та він упокорявся і не розтуляв своїх уст; немов ягня, що на заріз ведуть його, немов німа вівця перед обстригачами, не відкривав він уст.

He was taken from [o]prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.

Насильно, скорим судом його вхопили. Хто з його сучасників думав, що його вирвано з землі живих і що за гріхи народу свого його побито аж до смерти?

And [p]they made His grave with the wicked —
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

Гріб йому призначили разом з безбожними, і з злочинцями його могила, хоч він і не вчинив насильства, і не було обману в устах у нього.

Yet it pleased the Lord to [q]bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

Та Господь схотів придавити його стражданням. Якщо він принесе своє життя в покуту, то узрить потомство, житиме довго, і рука його вчинить успішно волю Господню.

[r]He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.

Після трудів душі своєї він побачить світло і насититься своїм знанням. Слуга мій виправдає багатьох, їхні беззаконня понесе на собі.

12

Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the [s]spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors.

Тому я дам йому, як пай, премногих; він з сильними буде ділити здобич, бо видав на смерть свою душу і був зачислений до лиходіїв, коли він узяв на себе гріхи багатьох і за грішників заступався.
