Thus says the Lord:
“Heaven is My throne,
And earth is My footstool.
Where is the house that you will build Me?
And where is the place of My rest?

Так говорить Господь: Небо — Мій престол, а земля — підніжжя для Моїх ніг. Який дім Мені збудуєте? Чи яке місце Мого спочинку?

2

For all those things My hand has made,
And all those things exist,”
Says the Lord.
“But on this one will I look:
On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit,
And who trembles at My word.

Адже це все створила Моя рука, і це все є Моє! — говорить Господь. І на кого погляну, хіба не на впокореного, мовчазного і того, хто тремтить перед Моїми словами?

3

“He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog’s neck;
He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood;
He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol.
Just as they have chosen their own ways,
And their soul delights in their abominations,

А беззаконний, який приносить у жертву Мені теля, як той, хто вбиває пса, а хто приносить пшеничне борошно, як той, хто приносить свинячу кров, а хто кладе ладан, як пам’ятну частку, немов той, хто хулить. Тож вони вибрали свої дороги та свої гидоти, які забажала їхня душа,

So will I choose their delusions,
And bring their fears on them;
Because, when I called, no one answered,
When I spoke they did not hear;
But they did evil before My eyes,
And chose that in which I do not delight.”

і Я виберу насмішки для них, і віддам їм гріхи. Адже Я до них закликав, та вони не послухалися Мене, Я говорив, і не почули, а чинили зло переді Мною і вибрали те, чого Я не бажав!

The Lord Vindicates Zion

Hear the word of the Lord,
You who tremble at His word:
“Your brethren who hated you,
Who cast you out for My name’s sake, said,
‘Let the Lord be glorified,
That we may see your joy.’
But they shall be ashamed.”

Послухайте слово Господа, ви, які тремтите перед Його словом! Скажіть, наші брати, тим, хто нас ненавидить і нами гидує, щоби прославилося Господнє Ім’я і з’явилося в їхній радості, і вони засоромляться.

The sound of noise from the city!
A voice from the temple!
The voice of the Lord,
Who fully repays His enemies!

Голос крику з поля, голос з храму, голос Господа, Який віддає відплату супротивникам.

“Before she was in labor, she gave birth;
Before her pain came,
She delivered a male child.

Раніше, ніж та, яка терпить болі, народить, раніше, ніж прийде страждання болів, вона звільнилася і народила хлоп’ятко.

8

Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day?
Or shall a nation be born at once?
For as soon as Zion was in labor,
She gave birth to her children.

Хто це чув, і хто таке бачив? Хіба земля терпіла болі породіллі один день, і чи народився народ враз? Адже дочка Сіон [1] перетерпіла муки і народила своїх дітей.

9

Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the Lord.
“Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.

Я ж очікував цього, а ти Мене не згадала, — сказав Господь. Дивись, хіба не Я створив ту, яка народжує, і неплідну? — сказав Бог.

10

“Rejoice with Jerusalem,
And be glad with her, all you who love her;
Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her;

Зрадій, Єрусалиме, і святкуйте в ньому, усі, хто його любить, радійте радістю, усі, хто плаче над ним,

11

That you may feed and be satisfied
With the consolation of her bosom,
That you may drink deeply and be delighted
With the abundance of her glory.”

щоб ви ссали і наситилися від грудей її потіхи, щоб, нассавшись, ви розвеселилися приходом її слави.

12

For thus says the Lord:
“Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river,
And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream.
Then you shall feed;
On her sides shall you be carried,
And be dandled on her knees.

Адже так говорить Господь: Ось Я до них схилю наче ріки миру і наче потоки, що заливають славу народів! Їхні діти будуть підняті на спину і на колінах будуть потішені.

13

As one whom his mother comforts,
So I will comfort you;
And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

13

Так, як когось потішає матір, так і Я вас потішу, і ви будете потішені в Єрусалимі.

14

The Reign and Indignation of God

When you see this, your heart shall rejoice,
And your bones shall flourish like grass;
The hand of the Lord shall be known to His servants,
And His indignation to His enemies.

14

І побачите, і зрадіє ваше серце, і ваші кості піднімуться, як трава. І явна буде Господня рука для тих, хто Його вшановує, а неслухняним Він пригрозить.

15

For behold, the Lord will come with fire
And with His chariots, like a whirlwind,
To render His anger with fury,
And His rebuke with flames of fire.

15

Ось-бо Господь прийде, як вогонь, і Його колісниці, як буря, щоб віддати в гніві помсту і відречення, — у полум’ї вогню.

16

For by fire and by His sword
The Lord will judge all flesh;
And the slain of the Lord shall be many.

16

Адже Господнім вогнем буде суджена вся земля, і всяке тіло — Його мечем. Численні будуть уражені Господом.

17

“Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves,
To go to the gardens
[a]After an idol in the midst,
Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse,
Shall [b]be consumed together,” says the Lord.

Ті, які освятилися й очистилися, та в садах і в переддвер’ях їдять м’ясо свиней, гидоти і мишей, разом будуть знищені, — сказав Господь, —

18

“For I know their works and their thoughts. It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory.

18

і Я знаю їхні діла та їхній задум! Я приходжу зібрати всі народи та язики, і вони прийдуть, і побачать Мою славу.

19

I will set a sign among them; and those among them who escape I will send to the nations: to Tarshish and [c]Pul and Lud, who draw the bow, and Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off who have not heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles.

19

І залишу на них знаки, і відішлю з них тих, що врятувалися, у народи, до Тарсіса, Фуда, Луда, Мосоха, Товила, до Греції і до островів далеко, які не почули Мого Ім’я і не побачили Моєї слави, і вони сповістять Мою славу серед народів.

20

Then they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the Lord out of all nations, on horses and in chariots and in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.

І приведуть ваших братів з усіх народів, як дар Господу, — разом з кіньми і колісницями, з ослами на возах з накриттям до святого міста Єрусалима, — сказав Господь, — як і сини Ізраїля з псалмами обновили Мені свої жертви в Господньому домі.

21

And I will also take some of them for priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

21

І з них Я візьму Собі священиків і левітів, — сказав Господь.

22

“For as the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord,
“So shall your descendants and your name remain.

22

Адже так, як нове небо і нова земля, які Я створю, залишатимуться переді Мною, — говорить Господь, — так стоятиме і ваше насіння і ваше ім’я.

23

And it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.

23

І буде, з місяця в місяць, і із суботи в суботу кожне тіло приходитиме в Єрусалим поклонитися переді Мною, — сказав Господь.

24

“And they shall go forth and look
Upon the corpses of the men
Who have transgressed against Me.
For their worm does not die,
And their fire is not quenched.
They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

І вийдуть, і побачать трупи людей, які вчинили переступ проти Мене, бо їхній черв’як не помре, і їхній вогонь не погасне, і будуть як видовище для кожного тіла.
