Judgment on Israel

Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Moab, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.

Так говорит Господь: "Я не пощажу и накажу народ Моава за многие его преступления. Они уничтожили тело царя Эдома, огнём превратив его кости в известь.

But I will send a fire upon Moab,
And it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth;
Moab shall die with tumult,
With shouting and trumpet sound.

Я пошлю огонь на Моав, и поглотит он высокие башни Кериофа, и умрёт Моав под звуки трубы и воинственные возгласы.

And I will cut off the judge from its midst,
And slay all its princes with him,”
Says the Lord.

Я уничтожу правителей Моава и убью всех их чиновников вместе с ним". Так говорит Господь.

Judgment on Judah

Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Judah, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they have despised the law of the Lord,
And have not kept His commandments.
Their lies lead them astray,
Lies which their fathers followed.

Так говорит Господь: "Я не пощажу и накажу Иуду за многие его преступления, ибо они отвергли учения Господа и законы Его не сохранили! Лжебоги, которым поклонялись их предки, совратили народ Иуды с пути.

But I will send a fire upon Judah,
And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”

Я пошлю огонь на Иуду и он поглотит высокие башни Иерусалима".

Judgment on Israel

Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Israel, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they sell the righteous for silver,
And the poor for a pair of sandals.

Так говорит Господь: "Я накажу и не пощажу Израиль за многие грехи, которые они совершили. Ибо, как рабов, продали они людей невинных, чтобы заработать немного, продали бедняков за пару сандалий.

They [a]pant after the dust of the earth which is on the head of the poor,
And pervert the way of the humble.
A man and his father go in to the same girl,
To defile My holy name.

Они толкали бедный народ лицом в пыль и были несправедливы к угнетённым. Отцы и сыновья ходили к одной женщине, чтобы обесславить имя Моё.

They lie down by every altar on clothes taken in pledge,
And drink the wine of [b]the condemned in the house of their god.

Они сидели перед алтарями в одежде, которую брали у бедных под залог, брали с людей штрафы и покупали на них вино, которое пили в храмах богов своих.

“Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them,
Whose height was like the height of the cedars,
And he was as strong as the oaks;
Yet I destroyed his fruit above
And his roots beneath.

Я уничтожил Аморрея у них на глазах, хотя и был он высок, как кедр, и силён, как дуб. Я уничтожил его плод сверху и корни снизу.

Also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt,
And led you forty years through the wilderness,
To possess the land of the Amorite.

Я вывел вас из Египта и сорок лет водил по пустыне, чтобы вы унаследовали аморрейскую землю.

I raised up some of your sons as prophets,
And some of your young men as Nazirites.
Is it not so, O you children of Israel?”
Says the Lord.

Из ваших сынов Я избрал пророков, а из ваших юношей — назореев. Разве это не так, народ Израиля?" Так говорит Господь.

“But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink,
And commanded the prophets saying,
‘Do not prophesy!’

"Но вы заставляли назореев пить вино, а пророкам велели не пророчествовать.

13

“Behold, I am [c]weighed down by you,
As a cart full of sheaves [d]is weighed down.

Вы для Меня, как тяжёлый груз. Вы придавили Меня, как давит телега, доверху нагруженная снопами.

14

Therefore [e]flight shall perish from the swift,
The strong shall not strengthen his power,
Nor shall the mighty [f]deliver himself;

Никому не удастся спастись, и даже быстрый не убежит, и сильный не устоит, и храбрый воин не спасёт свою жизнь.

15

He shall not stand who handles the bow,
The swift of foot shall not [g]escape,
Nor shall he who rides a horse deliver himself.

Не спасётся и тот, у кого есть лук и стрелы, не убежит быстроногий, не спасёт свою жизнь и всадник на коне.

16

The most [h]courageous men of might
Shall flee naked in that day,”
Says the Lord.

Даже самые отважные воины убегут нагие в тот день". Так объявляет Господь.
