New King James Version

English Standard Version

  • The Day of the Lord

    Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
    And your [a]spoil will be divided in your midst.
  • The Coming Day of the Lord

    Behold, a day is coming for the Lord, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst.
  • For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
    The city shall be taken,
    The houses [b]rifled,
    And the women ravished.
    Half of the city shall go into captivity,
    But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
  • For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
  • Then the Lord will go forth
    And fight against those nations,
    As He fights in the day of battle.
  • Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.
  • And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
    Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
    And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
    From east to west,
    Making a very large valley;
    Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
    And half of it toward the south.
  • On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.
  • Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
    For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
    Yes, you shall flee
    As you fled from the earthquake
    In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
    Thus the Lord my God will come,
    And all the saints with [c]You.
  • And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.a
  • It shall come to pass in that day
    That there will be no light;
    The [d]lights will diminish.
  • On that day there shall be no light, cold, or frost.b
  • It shall be one day
    Which is known to the Lord —
    Neither day nor night.
    But at evening time it shall happen
    That it will be light.
  • And there shall be a uniquec day, which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but at evening time there shall be light.
  • And in that day it shall be
    That living waters shall flow from Jerusalem,
    Half of them toward [e]the eastern sea
    And half of them toward [f]the western sea;
    In both summer and winter it shall occur.
  • On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sead and half of them to the western sea.e It shall continue in summer as in winter.
  • And the Lord shall be King over all the earth.
    In that day it shall be —
    “The Lord is one,”
    And His name one.
  • And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
  • All the land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. [g]Jerusalem shall be raised up and inhabited in her place from Benjamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.
  • The whole land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem shall remain aloft on its site from the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the former gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.
  • The people shall dwell in it;
    And no longer shall there be utter destruction,
    But Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
  • And it shall be inhabited, for there shall never again be a decree of utter destruction.f Jerusalem shall dwell in security.
  • And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem:
    Their flesh shall [h]dissolve while they stand on their feet,
    Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets,
    And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.
  • And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
  • It shall come to pass in that day
    That a great panic from the Lord will be among them.
    Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor,
    And raise his hand against his neighbor’s hand;
  • And on that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other.
  • Judah also will fight at Jerusalem.
    And the wealth of all the surrounding nations
    Shall be gathered together:
    Gold, silver, and apparel in great abundance.
  • Even Judah will fight at Jerusalem.g And the wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be collected, gold, silver, and garments in great abundance.
  • Such also shall be the plague
    On the horse and the mule,
    On the camel and the donkey,
    And on all the cattle that will be in those camps.
    So shall this plague be.
  • And a plague like this plague shall fall on the horses, the mules, the camels, the donkeys, and whatever beasts may be in those camps.
  • The Nations Worship the King

    And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
  • Then everyone who survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem shall go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Booths.
  • And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain.
  • And if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain on them.
  • If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
  • And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;h there shall be the plague with which the Lord afflicts the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths.
  • This shall be the [i]punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
  • This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths.
  • In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
  • And on that day there shall be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “Holy to the Lord.” And the pots in the house of the Lord shall be as the bowls before the altar.
  • Yes, [j]every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to the Lord of hosts. Everyone who sacrifices shall come and take them and cook in them. In that day there shall no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.
  • And every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holy to the Lord of hosts, so that all who sacrifice may come and take of them and boil the meat of the sacrifice in them. And there shall no longer be a traderi in the house of the Lord of hosts on that day.
