The Coming Messenger

“Behold, I send My messenger,
And he will prepare the way before Me.
And the Lord, whom you seek,
Will suddenly come to His temple,
Even the Messenger of the covenant,
In whom you delight.
Behold, He is coming,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

— Вот, Я посылаю вестника Моего, и он приготовит путь предо Мной, и внезапно придет в храм Свой Владыка, Которого вы ищете, и Вестник завета, Которого вы желаете. Вот Он идет, — говорит Господь Сил.12

“But who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.

Но кто выдержит день Его прихода? Кто устоит, когда Он явится? Он будет как расплавляющий огонь и как очищающий щелок.

3

He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And [a]purge them as gold and silver,
That they may offer to the Lord
An offering in righteousness.

Он сядет подобно плавильщику, очищающему серебро, очистит левитов и переплавит их, как золото и серебро. Тогда у Господа будут люди, которые станут приносить дары в праведности,

“Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem
Will be [b]pleasant to the Lord,
As in the days of old,
As in former years.

и дары Иуды с Иерусалимом станут угодны Господу, как в прежние дни, как в минувшие годы.

And I will come near you for judgment;
I will be a swift witness
Against sorcerers,
Against adulterers,
Against perjurers,
Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans,
And against those who turn away an alien —
Because they do not fear Me,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

— Я приду к вам для суда. Я не замедлю принести свидетельство против чародеев, нарушителей супружеской верности и клятвопреступников, против тех, кто удерживает у батраков заработанное, кто притесняет вдов и сирот, лишает чужеземцев правосудия и не боится Меня, — говорит Господь Сил.

“For I am the Lord, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

— Я, Господь, не изменяюсь. Поэтому и вы, потомки Иакова, не исчезли.

7

Yet from the days of your fathers
You have gone away from My ordinances
And have not kept them.
Return to Me, and I will return to you,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
“But you said,
‘In what way shall we return?’

Со времен ваших отцов вы отворачивались от Моих установлений и не соблюдали их. Вернитесь ко Мне, и Я вернусь к вам, — говорит Господь Сил. — Но вы говорите: «Как нам вернуться?»

Do Not Rob God

“Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,
‘In what way have we robbed You?’
In tithes and offerings.

Станет ли человек обкрадывать Бога? А вы обкрадываете Меня. Вы говорите: «Как мы обкрадываем Тебя?» Десятинами и приношениями.13

9

You are cursed with a curse,
For you have robbed Me,
Even this whole nation.

Прокляты вы — весь ваш народ — за то, что обкрадываете Меня.

10

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.

Принесите десятину в хранилища целиком, чтобы в Моем доме была пища. Испытайте Меня в этом, — говорит Господь Сил, — и посмотрите, не отворю ли Я вам окон неба и не изолью ли благословения на вас так щедро, что у вас не хватит места их вместить?

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the Lord of hosts;

Я не дам вредителям пожирать ваш урожай, и с виноградных лоз на ваших полях не опадут плоды, — говорит Господь Сил. —

12

“And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

Тогда все народы назовут вас счастливыми, потому что ваша земля будет прекрасной, — говорит Господь Сил.

The People Complain Harshly

“Your words have been [c]harsh against Me,”
Says the Lord,
“Yet you say,
‘What have we spoken against You?’

Вы произносили жестокие слова против Меня, — говорит Господь. — Но вы говорите: «Что мы сказали против Тебя?»

14

You have said,
‘It is useless to serve God;
What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance,
And that we have walked as mourners
Before the Lord of hosts?

14

Вы говорили: «Служение Богу тщетно. Что мы выгадали, исполняя Его уставы и ходя со скорбными лицами перед Господом Сил?

15

So now we call the proud blessed,
For those who do wickedness are [d]raised up;
They even tempt God and go free.’ ”

Теперь мы считаем счастливыми гордецов. Злодеи не только преуспевают, но и остаются невредимыми, даже когда бросают вызов Богу».

A Book of Remembrance

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the Lord
And who [e]meditate on His name.

В то время боящиеся Господа говорили друг с другом. Господь внимал и слушал, и записывалась перед Ним памятная книга о тех, кто боится Господа и размышляет о Его имени.

“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.[f]
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”

— Они будут Моими, — говорит Господь Сил, — Моим драгоценным достоянием в тот день, когда Я буду действовать. Я пощажу их, как отец щадит сына, который ему служит.

18

Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.

18

Тогда вы снова увидите разницу между праведником и злодеем, между тем, кто служит Богу, и тем, кто Ему не служит.
