Satan Tempts Jesus

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

1

Потому Ісус був пове́дений Духом у пустиню, щоб диявол Його спокуша́в.

2

And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

2

І по́стив Він сорок день і сорок ноче́й, а вкінці зголодні́в.

3

Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

3

І ось приступив до Нього споку́сник, і сказав: „Коли Ти Син Божий, скажи, щоб камі́ння це стало хліба́ми!“

4

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

4

А Він відповів і промовив: „Написано: Не хлібом самим буде жити люди́на, але кожним словом, що походить із уст Божих“.

Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,

Тоді забирає диявол Його в святе місто, і ставить Його на нарі́жника храму,

and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’
and,
‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”

та й каже Йому: „Коли Ти Син Божий, то кинься додолу, бож написано: „Він накаже про Тебе Своїм Ангола́м, і вони на руках понесу́ть Тебе, щоб об камінь коли не спіткнув Ти Своєї ноги́“.

Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not [a]tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Ісус відказав йому: „Ще написано: Не спокушуй Господа Бога свого!“

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

Знов диявол бере Його на височе́зную го́ру, і показує Йому всі царства на світі та їхню славу,

9

And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

9

та й каже до Нього: „Це все Тобі дам, якщо впаде́ш і мені Ти покло́нишся!“

10

Then Jesus said to him, [b]“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

10

Тоді каже до нього Ісус: „Відійди, сатано! Бож написано: Господеві Богові своєму вклоняйся, і служи Одно́му Йому!“

11

Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

11

Тоді позоставив диявол Його. І ось анголи́ приступили, і служили Йому́.

Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry

Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee.

Як довідавсь Ісус, що Івана ув'я́знено, перейшов у Галілею.

13

And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,

13

І, покинувши Він Назаре́та, прийшов й оселився в Капернау́мі примо́рськім, на границі країн Завуло́нової й Нефтали́мової,

14

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:

щоб спра́вдилось те, що сказав Іса́я пророк, промовляючи:

15

“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles:

15

„Завуло́нова зе́мле, і Нефтали́мова зе́мле, за Йорда́ном при мо́рській дорозі, Галіле́є поганська!

16

The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned.”

16

Наро́д, що в темно́ті сидів, світло велике побачив, а тим, хто сидів у країні смертельної тіні, засяяло світло“.

17

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven [c]is at hand.”

Із того ча́су Ісус розпочав проповідувати й промовляти: „Покайтеся, бо набли́зилось Царство Небесне!“

18

Four Fishermen Called as Disciples

And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

Як прохо́див же Він поблизу́ Галілейського моря, то побачив двох братів: Си́мона, що зветься Петром, та Андрія, його брата, що не́вода в море закида́ли, — бо рибалки були́.

19

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

19

І Він каже до них: „Ідіть за Мною, — Я зроблю́ вас ловця́ми людей!“

20

They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

20

І вони зараз покинули сі́ті, та й пішли вслід за Ним.

21

Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them,

21

І, далі пішовши звідти, Він побачив двох інших братів, — Зеведе́євого сина Якова та Івана, його брата, із Зеведе́єм, їхнім ба́тьком, що ла́годили свого не́вода в чо́вні, — і покликав Він їх.

22

and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

Вони зараз залиши́ли чо́вна та батька свого́, — та й пішли вслід за Ним.

23

Jesus Heals a Great Multitude

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

23

І ходив Він по всій Галілеї, по їхніх синаго́гах навчаючи, та Єва́нгелію Царства проповідуючи, і вздоро́влюючи всяку неду́гу, і всяку неміч між людьми.

24

Then [d]His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

А чутка про Нього пішла по всій Си́рії. І водили до Нього недужих усіх, хто терпів на різні хвороби та муки, і біснуватих, і сновид, і розсла́блених, — і Він їх уздоровля́в.

25

Great multitudes followed Him — from Galilee, and from [e]Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

25

І багато людей ішло за Ним і з Галілеї, і з Десятимістя, і з Єрусалиму, і з Юдеї, і з Зайорда́ння.
