New King James Version

Darby Bible Translation

  • Do Not Judge

    “Judge[a] not, that you be not judged.
  • Do Not Judge

    Judge not, that ye may not be judged;
  • For with what [b]judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
  • for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you.
  • And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
  • But why lookest thou on the mote that is in the eye of thy brother, but observest not the beam that is in thine eye?
  • Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?
  • Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Allow [me], I will cast out the mote from thine eye; and behold, the beam is in thine eye?
  • Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
  • Hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine eye, and then thou wilt see clearly to cast out the mote out of the eye of thy brother.
  • “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
  • Give not that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them with their feet, and turning round rend you.
  • Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking

    “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
  • Ask, Seek, Knock

    Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you.
  • For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
  • For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
  • Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
  • Or what man is there of you who, if his son shall ask of him a loaf of bread, will give him a stone;
  • Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
  • and if he ask a fish, will give him a serpent?
  • If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
  • If therefore *ye*, being wicked, know [how] to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to them that ask of him?
  • Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
  • Therefore all things whatever ye desire that men should do to you, thus do *ye* also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
  • The Narrow Way

    “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
  • The Narrow Gate

    Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide the gate and broad the way that leads to destruction, and many are they who enter in through it.
  • [c]Because narrow is the gate and [d]difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
  • For narrow the gate and straitened the way that leads to life, and they are few who find it.
  • You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

    “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
  • A Tree and its Fruit

    But beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but within are ravening wolves.
  • You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
  • By their fruits ye shall know them. Do [men] gather a bunch of grapes from thorns, or from thistles figs?
  • Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
  • So every good tree produces good fruits, but the worthless tree produces bad fruits.
  • A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
  • A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, nor a worthless tree produce good fruits.
  • Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
  • Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
  • Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
  • By their fruits then surely ye shall know them.
  • I Never Knew You

    “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
  • Not every one who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that does the will of my Father who is in the heavens.
  • Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
  • Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied through *thy* name, and through *thy* name cast out demons, and through *thy* name done many works of power?
  • And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
  • and then will I avow unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me, workers of lawlessness.
  • Build on the Rock

    “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
  • The House on the Rock

    Whoever therefore hears these my words and does them, I will liken him to a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock;
  • and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
  • and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and fell upon that house, and it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock.
  • “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:
  • And every one who hears these my words and does not do them, he shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand;
  • and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
  • and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.
  • And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching,
  • The Authority of Jesus

    And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his doctrine,
  • for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
  • for he taught them as having authority, and not as their scribes.
