Marks of the Ministry

We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

1

Помагаючи ж (Йому), благаємо вас, щоб ви марно благодать Божу не приймали.

For He says:
“In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

(Бо глаголе: Приятного часу вислухав я тебе, і в день спасення поміг тобі. Ось тепер пора приятна, ось тепер день спасення. )

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.

Нїякого нї в чому не даємо спотикання, щоб не було ганене служеннє,

But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much [a]patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,

а у всьому показуючи себе яко слуг Божих: у великому терпінню, в горю, в нуждах, в тїснотах,

5

in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;

в ранах, в темницях, в бучах, у працях, у недосипаннях, у постах,

6

by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by [b]sincere love,

в чистотї, в знанню, в довготерпінню, в добростї, в сьвятому Дусї, в любові нелицемірній,

7

by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

7

в словах правди, в силї Божій, із зброєю праведности в правій і лївій,

8

by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

8

славою і безчестєм, ганьбою і хвалою; яко дуросьвіти, та правдиві;

9

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;

9

яко незнані, та познані; яко вміраючі, і ось ми живі; яко карані, та не повбивані;

10

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

яко сумні, а завсїди веселі; яко вбогі, многих же збогачуючі; яко нїчого немаючі, а все держучи.

Be Holy

O Corinthians! [c]We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open.

Уста наші відкрились до вас, Коринтяне; серця наші розпросторились.

12

You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections.

Не стїснені ви в нас, а тїснитесь в утробах ваших.

13

Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.

Такою ж нагородою (кажу вам, як дїтям) розпросторітесь і ви.

14

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what [d]fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what [e]communion has light with darkness?

Не ходїть у жадному ярмі з невірними; яке бо товаришуваннє праведности і беззаконня, і яка спільність сьвітла з темрявою?

15

And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

Яка ж згода в Христа з Велиялом? або яка часть вірному з невірним?

16

And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[f] are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

І яка згода церкви Божої з ідолською? бо ви церква Бога живого, яко ж рече Бог: вселю ся в них, і ходити му; і буду їм Бог, а вони будуть менї люде.

17

Therefore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”

Тим же вийдїть із між них, і відлучіть ся, глаголе Господь, і до нечистого не приторкайтесь; і я прийму вас,

18

“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”

18

і буду вам за отця, а ви будете менї за синів і дочок, глаголе Господь Вседержитель.
