Marks of the Ministry

We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

1

Ми, як співпрацівники, благаємо, щоб ви Божої благодаті не приймали надаремно.

2

For He says:
“In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Адже сказано: У сприятливий час Я вислухав тебе і в день спасіння допоміг тобі. Ось тепер — час сприятливий! Ось тепер — день спасіння!

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.

Ми нікому не чинимо жодної перешкоди, щоб служіння було бездоганним,

But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much [a]patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,

але в усьому виявляємо себе як слуги Бога: у великому терпінні, у стражданнях, у нещастях, у пригніченнях,

in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;

5

у ранах, у в’язницях, у заворушеннях, у труднощах, у недосипаннях, у постах,

by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by [b]sincere love,

в очищенні, у пізнанні, у терпеливості, у лагідності, у Святому Дусі, у щирій любові,

7

by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

7

у слові істини, у силі Божій, зі зброєю праведності в правій та лівій руці,

8

by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

8

у славі й безчесті, у ганьбі й похвалі; як ті, які сіють оману, але ми правдомовні;

9

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;

9

як невідомі, але добре знані; як ті, які вмирають, однак ми живі; як карані, але не страчені;

10

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

як ті, які сумують, але завжди радіють; як убогі, але багатьох збагачуємо; наче ті, які нічого не мають, але всім володіють.

Be Holy

O Corinthians! [c]We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open.

You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections.

У нас вам не тісно, проте тісно у ваших серцях.

13

Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.

Кажу вам, наче дітям: майте широке серце й ви.

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what [d]fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what [e]communion has light with darkness?

Не впрягайтеся разом з невірними в чуже ярмо. Що може бути спільного в праведності з беззаконням? Що спільного між світлом і темрявою?

15

And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

Яка згода Христа з Веліяром? Яка частка вірного з невірним?

16

And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[f] are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

Або яка згода між Божим храмом та ідолами? Адже ми — храм Живого Бога, як сказав Бог: Оселюся в них і ходитиму з ними, і буду їхнім Богом, а вони будуть Моїм народом!

Therefore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”

Тому вийдіть з-поміж них і відділіться, — говорить Господь, — і до нечистого не доторкайтеся, і Я прийму вас,

18

“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”

18

і буду для вас Отцем, а ви будете для Мене синами й дочками, — каже Господь Вседержитель!
