New King James Version

English Standard Version

  • All for Christ

    Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
  • Righteousness Through Faith in Christ

    Finally, my brothers,a rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you.
  • Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!
  • Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.
  • For we are the circumcision, who worship [a]God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
  • For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of Godb and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh —
  • though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so:
  • though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:
  • circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;
  • circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee;
  • concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
  • as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law,c blameless.
  • But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
  • But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
  • Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
  • Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ
  • and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
  • and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith —
  • that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
  • that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
  • if, by any means, I may attain[b] to the resurrection from the dead.
  • that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
  • Pressing Toward the Goal

    Not that I have already attained,[c] or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
  • Straining Toward the Goal

    Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
  • Brethren, I do not count myself to have [d]apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
  • Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
  • I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
  • I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
  • Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
  • Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.
  • Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already [e]attained, let us walk by the same [f]rule, let us be of the same mind.
  • Only let us hold true to what we have attained.
  • Our Citizenship in Heaven

    Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
  • Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.
  • For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
  • For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.
  • whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame — who set their mind on earthly things.
  • Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
  • For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
  • But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
  • who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
  • who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
