New King James Version

Darby Bible Translation

  • Not Carnality but Christ

    If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
  • Put on the New Self

    If therefore ye have been raised with the Christ, seek the things [which are] above, where the Christ is, sitting at [the] right hand of God:
  • Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
  • have your mind on the things [that are] above, not on the things [that are] on the earth;
  • For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
  • for ye have died, and your life is hid with the Christ in God.
  • When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
  • When the Christ is manifested who [is] our life, then shall *ye* also be manifested with him in glory.
  • Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
  • Put to death therefore your members which [are] upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, vile passions, evil lust, and unbridled desire, which is idolatry.
  • Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,
  • On account of which things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
  • in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
  • In which *ye* also once walked when ye lived in these things.
  • But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.
  • But now, put off, *ye* also, all [these] things, wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, vile language out of your mouth.
  • Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,
  • Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds,
  • and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
  • and having put on the new, renewed into full knowledge according to [the] image of him that has created him;
  • where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
  • wherein there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ [is] everything, and in all.
  • Character of the New Man

    Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
  • Put on therefore, as [the] elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;
  • bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
  • forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any should have a complaint against any; even as the Christ has forgiven you, so also [do] *ye*.
  • But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
  • And to all these [add] love, which is the bond of perfectness.
  • And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
  • And let the peace of Christ preside in your hearts, to which also ye have been called in one body, and be thankful.
  • Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
  • Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another, in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.
  • And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
  • And everything, whatever ye may do in word or in deed, [do] all things in [the] name of [the] Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him.
  • The Christian Home

    Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
  • Christian Households

    Wives, be subject to [your] husbands, as is fitting in [the] Lord.
  • Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
  • Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
  • Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
  • Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in [the] Lord.
  • Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
  • Fathers, do not vex your children, to the end that they be not disheartened.
  • Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.
  • Bondmen, obey in all things your masters according to flesh; not with eye-services, as men-pleasers, but in simplicity of heart, fearing the Lord.
  • And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
  • Whatsoever ye do, labour at it heartily, as [doing it] to the Lord, and not to men;
  • knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for[a] you serve the Lord Christ.
  • knowing that of [the] Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance; ye serve the Lord Christ.
  • But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.
  • For he that does a wrong shall receive the wrong he has done, and there is no respect of persons.
