Pray for All Men

Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

Отже, насамперед прошу, щоби звершувати молитви, благання, прохання, подяки за всіх людей,

for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence.

за царів і за всіх, хто при владі, щоб нам жити тихим і спокійним життям — в усякій побожності та чистоті.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

[Бо] це добре і до вподоби нашому Спасителеві, Богові,

who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Який бажає, щоб усі люди спаслися і прийшли до пізнання істини.

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Адже один є Бог і один Посередник між Богом та людьми — Людина Ісус Христос,

who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle — I am speaking the truth [d]in Christ and not lying — a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Men and Women in the Church

I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

Тому я хочу, щоби чоловіки молилися на кожному місці, здіймаючи чисті руки — без гніву та сумніву.

in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and [e]moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing,

Так само й жінки хай одягаються скромно, із соромливістю та розсудливістю, хай прикрашають себе не заплітанням волосся, не золотом, не перлами, не коштовним вбранням,

but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.

а добрими ділами, як це й належить жінкам, котрі присвятили себе побожності.

Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.

Жінка нехай мовчки навчається в повній покорі.

And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

Жінці навчати не дозволяю, ні панувати над чоловіком, але нехай перебуває в мовчанні.

For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

Бо Адам був створений першим, а потім Єва.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

І не Адам спокусився, а жінка, бувши спокушена, потрапила в переступ.

Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

Та спасеться вона народженням дітей, якщо буде перебувати у вірі, любові та святості з розсудливістю.
