New King James Version

Darby Bible Translation

  • Concluding Moral Directions

    Let brotherly love continue.
  • Love for Brothers

    Let brotherly love abide.
  • Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
  • Be not forgetful of hospitality; for by it some have unawares entertained angels.
  • Remember the prisoners as if chained with them — those who are mistreated — since you yourselves are in the body also.
  • Remember prisoners, as bound with [them]; those that are evil-treated, as being yourselves also in [the] body.
  • Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
  • [Let] marriage [be held] every way in honour, and the bed [be] undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge.
  • Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
  • Jesus Christ is the Same

[Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.
  • So we may boldly say:
    “The Lord is my helper;
    I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”
  • So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?
  • Concluding Religious Directions

Remember those who [a]rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.
  • Remember your leaders who have spoken to you the word of God; and considering the issue of their conversation, imitate their faith.
  • Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
  • Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and to-day, and to the ages [to come].
  • Do not be carried [b]about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.
  • Be not carried away with various and strange doctrines; for [it is] good that the heart be confirmed with grace, not meats; those who have walked in which have not been profited by [them].
  • We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.
  • We have an altar of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle;
  • For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.
  • for of those beasts whose blood is carried [as sacrifices for sin] into the [holy of] holies by the high priest, of these the bodies are burned outside the camp.
  • Therefore Jesus also, that He might [c]sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
  • Wherefore also Jesus, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate:
  • Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
  • therefore let us go forth to him without the camp, bearing his reproach:
  • For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.
  • for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the coming one.
  • Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, [d]giving thanks to His name.
  • Sacrifices and Prayer

By him therefore let us offer [the] sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, [the] fruit of [the] lips confessing his name.
  • But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
  • But of doing good and communicating [of your substance] be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
  • Obey those who [e]rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
  • Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for this [would be] unprofitable for you.
  • Prayer Requested

Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.
  • Pray for us: for we persuade ourselves that we have a good conscience, in all things desirous to walk rightly.
  • But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
  • But I much more beseech [you] to do this, that I may the more quickly be restored to you.
  • Benediction, Final Exhortation, Farewell

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
  • Benediction and Final Greetings

But the God of peace, who brought again from among [the] dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, in [the power of the] blood of [the] eternal covenant,
  • make you [f]complete in every good work to do His will, working in [g]you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • perfect you in every good work to the doing of his will, doing in you what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for the ages of ages. Amen.
  • And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.
  • But I beseech you, brethren, bear the word of exhortation, for it is but in few words that I have written to you.
  • Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly.
  • Know that our brother Timotheus is set at liberty; with whom, if he should come soon, I will see you.
  • Greet all those who [h]rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
  • Salute all your leaders, and all the saints. They from Italy salute you.
  • Grace be with you all. Amen.
  • Grace [be] with you all. Amen.
