The Seven Bowls

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the [a]bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.”

1

І я почув гучний голос із храму, що говорив сімом ангелам: Ідіть і вилийте на землю сім чаш Божого гніву!

First Bowl: Loathsome Sores

So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a [b]foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.

І перший пішов та вилив свою чашу на землю, — і обсіли людей страшні й жахливі болячки — тих, хто мав знак звіра, які поклонялися його образові.

Second Bowl: The Sea Turns to Blood

Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.

А другий вилив свою чашу в море — і стала кров, наче в мерця, і вимерла кожна жива душа, яка в морі.

Third Bowl: The Waters Turn to Blood

Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood.

А третій вилив свою чашу на ріки й джерела вод — і стали кров’ю.

And I heard the angel of the waters saying:
“You are righteous, [c]O Lord,
The One who is and who [d]was and who is to be,
Because You have judged these things.

І я почув ангела вод, який промовляв: Справедливий Ти, Хто є, і Хто був, і Святий, бо Ти це присудив, —

6

For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
And You have given them blood to drink.
[e]For it is their just due.”

за те, що вони пролили кров святих і пророків, — і Ти дав їм пити кров. Вони варті того!

And I heard [f]another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”

І я чув [від] жертовника слова: Так, Господи Боже, Вседержителю, правдиві й праведні суди Твої!

Fourth Bowl: Men Are Scorched

Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire.

8

А четвертий [ангел] вилив свою чашу на сонце — і дано йому палити людей вогнем.

9

And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.

9

І палила людей велика спека, а вони зневажали Ім’я Бога, Який має владу над цими карами, та не покаялися, щоб віддати Йому славу.

10

Fifth Bowl: Darkness and Pain

Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain.

А п’ятий ангел вилив свою чашу на престол звіра — і стало царство його темним, і кусали свої язики від болю

11

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

та зневажали Бога Небесного від свого болю і від своїх ран, але не покаялися у своїх вчинках.

12

Sixth Bowl: Euphrates Dried Up

Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared.

А шостий ангел вилив свою чашу на велику ріку Євфрат — і висохла вода, аби приготувати дорогу царям, які зі сходу сонця.

13

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

13

І я побачив, що з уст змія, і з уст звіра, і з уст лжепророка вийшли три нечисті духи, наче жаби.

14

For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings [g]of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

14

Це демонські духи, які роблять ознаки; вони виходять до царів усього світу, щоби зібрати їх на битву великого дня Бога Вседержителя.

15

“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

15

Ось, приходжу, мов злодій. Блаженний, хто пильнує і хто береже свій одяг, щоб не ходити нагим і щоб не бачили його сорому!

16

And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, [h]Armageddon.

16

І зібрав їх на місце, що по-єврейськи називається Армаґедон.

Seventh Bowl: The Earth Utterly Shaken

Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

17

А сьомий [ангел] вилив свою чашу на повітря — і залунав гучний голос із [небесного] храму, від престолу, проголошуючи: Сталося!

18

And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.

18

І зчинилися блискавки, голоси і громи, і стався великий землетрус, якого ще ніколи не було, відколи живуть люди на землі: такий землетрус, такий потужний!

19

Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

І розпалося велике місто на три частини; розвалилися і міста народів. І великий Вавилон був згаданий перед Богом, щоби дати йому чашу вина Його лютого гніву.

20

Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

20

І зник кожний острів, і не стало гір.

21

And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

21

І величезний град завбільшки з талант [1] падав з неба на людей; і люди зневажали Бога за кару градом, тому що та кара була дуже велика.
