Joseph recognized his brothers instantly, but he pretended to be a stranger and spoke harshly to them. “Where are you from?” he demanded.
“From the land of Canaan,” they replied. “We have come to buy food.”

And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

И увидел Иосиф братьев своих и узнал их; но показал, будто не знает их, и говорил с ними сурово и сказал им: откуда вы пришли? Они сказали: из земли Ханаанской, купить пищи.

Побачивши Йосиф браттє своє впізнав, та почужив їх, і говорив до них жорстоко, і каже їм: Звідкіля прийшли? Вони ж кажуть: Із Канаан землї, купити хлїба. -
І побачив Йо́сип братів своїх, і пізнав їх, та не дав пізнати себе. І говорив із ними суворо, і промовив до них: „Звідкіля прибули́ ви?“ А вони відказали: „З ханаанського Кра́ю купити їжі“.

Как только Иосиф увидел братьев, он сразу узнал их, но притворился незнакомцем и заговорил с ними сурово.
— Откуда вы пришли? — спросил он.
— Из земли Ханаана, чтобы купить еды, — ответили они. -
Йосиф, побачивши своїх братів, упізнав їх, та тримався на віддалі від них і говорив з ними суворо. Він запитав їх: Звідкіля ви прийшли? Вони ж сказали: З Ханаанської землі, щоб купити їжі.
