    This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings,a he made them to be like himself.
  • The Descendants of Adam

    This is the book of Adam's generations. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him.
  • He created them male and female, and he blessed them and called them “human.”
  • Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
  • When Adam was 130 years old, he became the father of a son who was just like him — in his very image. He named his son Seth.
  • And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot [a son] in his likeness, after his image, and called his name Seth.
  • After the birth of Seth, Adam lived another 800 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
  • And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters.
  • Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.
  • And all the days of Adam that he lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
  • When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father ofb Enosh.
  • And Seth lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.
  • After the birth ofc Enosh, Seth lived another 807 years, and he had other sons and daughters.

  • And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.
  • When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch.

    And Jared lived a hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.
  • After the birth of Enoch, Jared lived another 800 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
  • And Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
  • Jared lived 962 years, and then he died.
  • And all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.
  • When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah.
  • And Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methushelah.
  • After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
  • And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
  • Enoch lived 365 years,
  • And all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.

  • When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.
  • From Methuselah to Noah

    And Methushelah lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lemech.
  • After the birth of Lamech, Methuselah lived another 782 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
  • And Methushelah lived after he had begotten Lemech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and begot sons and daughters.
  • Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died.
  • And all the days of Methushelah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.
  • When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son.
  • And Lemech lived a hundred and eighty-two years, and begot a son.
  • Lamech named his son Noah, for he said, “May he bring us reliefd from our work and the painful labor of farming this ground that the LORD has cursed.”
  • And he called his name Noah, saying, This [one] shall comfort us concerning our work and concerning the toil of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah has cursed.
  • After the birth of Noah, Lamech lived another 595 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
  • And Lemech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and begot sons and daughters.
  • Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died.
  • And all the days of Lemech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.
  • After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
  • And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
