Then Joab said, “God only knows what would have happened if you hadn’t spoken, for we would have chased you all night if necessary.”

And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.

И сказал Иоав: жив Бог! если бы ты не говорил иначе, то ещё утром перестали бы люди преследовать братьев своих.

І відрік Йоав: “Так певно, як живе Бог! Як би ти не заговорив, то ці люди лиш насвітанку перестали б гнатись кожний за своїм братом.”

А Йоав відказав: „Як живий Бог, — коли б ти не сказав був іншого, то ще від ра́нку наро́д був би перестав гнатися за братом своїм“.

— Верно, как и то, что жив Бог, если бы ты не сказал, воины продолжали бы преследовать своих братьев до утра.6 -
А Йоав сказав: Нехай живе Господь, якщо би ти не сказав, дотепер від ранку не пішов би народ кожний за своїм братом.
