And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.

And he said, “Far be it from me, O my God, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy? For at the risk of their lives they brought it.” Therefore he would not drink it. These things were done by the three mighty men.

“God forbid that I should do this!” he said. “Should I drink the blood of these men who went at the risk of their lives?” Because they risked their lives to bring it back, David would not drink it.
Such were the exploits of the three mighty warriors. -

и сказал: сохрани меня Господь, чтоб я сделал это! Стану ли я пить кровь мужей сих, полагавших души свои! Ибо с опасностью собственной жизни они принесли воду. И не захотел пить её. Вот что сделали трое этих храбрых.

і сказав: “Борони мене, Боже, щоб я це зробив! Чи стану ж пити кров цих сміливців, що важили своїм життям? Ціною бо свого життя вони принесли її.” І не схотів її пити. От що зробили оті три вояки!

І сказав: Борони мене, Боже, щоб я це зробив! Чи стану ж я пити кров цїх сьмільчаків, що важили життєм своїм. Бо з небезпечністю власного життя вони це принесли. Та й не схотїв її пити. От що вчинили отті три невміраки! -
та й сказав: „Борони мене, Боже мій, чинити таке! Чи я буду пити кров цих мужів, що ходили, наражаючи життя своє? Бо життям своїм вони прине́сли її!“ І не хотів він пити її. Оце зробили троє цих ли́царів.

— Сохрани меня Бог сделать это! — сказал он. — Разве я стану пить кровь этих людей? Ведь они принесли воду, рискуя своей жизнью!
И он не стал пить.
Такие подвиги совершили трое этих воинов. -
і сказав: Змилуйся наді мною, Боже, щоб не зробити цього вчинку. Хіба я можу пити кров цих мужів у їхніх душах? Адже у своїх душах принесли її. І він не захотів її пити. Ось що вчинили ці троє сильних.
