They brought the Ark of God and placed it inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to God.

Отож принесли Божий кивот поставили його посеред намету, що розіп'яв для нього Давид, і принесли жертви всепалення й мирні жертви перед Богом.

When he had finished his sacrifices, David blessed the people in the name of the LORD.

2

А як скінчив Давид приносити жертви всепалення й мирні жертви, тоді поблагословив народ іменем Господа.

3

Then he gave to every man and woman in all Israel a loaf of bread, a cake of dates,a and a cake of raisins.

І роздав кожному з ізраїльтян — і чоловікам, і жінкам — по буханцеві хліба, по кусневі м'яса й по пундику з родзинок.

David appointed the following Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of the LORD — to invoke his blessings, to give thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel.

На службу перед Господнім кивотом поставив Давид кількох левітів, щоб нагадували чини Господа, Бога Ізраїля, дякували й восхваляли.

Asaph, the leader of this group, sounded the cymbals. Second to him was Zechariah, followed by Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. They played the harps and lyres.

Асафа — головою, другим по ньому Захарію, Єїела, Шемірамота, Єхієла, Маттатію, Еліява, Бенаю, Овеедедома та Єіела з гарфами та цитрами, приладами на гудьбу, й Асафа, щоб грав гучно на цимбалах;

The priests, Benaiah and Jahaziel, played the trumpets regularly before the Ark of God’s Covenant.

а Бенаю та Ахазієла, священиків, щоб постійно сурмили перед кивотом Божого союзу.

David’s Song of Praise

On that day David gave to Asaph and his fellow Levites this song of thanksgiving to the LORD:

Того дня Давид уперше дав наказ Асафові та його братам прославляти Господа:

8

Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done.

8

“Славіте Господа, взивайте його ім'я, оповідайте про діла його народам!

9

Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.
Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.

9

Співайте йому, псалми йому співайте, про всі чуда його оповідайте!

10

Exult in his holy name;
rejoice, you who worship the LORD.

10

Хвалітесь його святим ім'ям; нехай радіє серце тих, що Господа шукають!

11

Search for the LORD and for his strength;
continually seek him.

11

Питайте про Господа та його силу, шукайте завжди його обличчя.

12

Remember the wonders he has performed,
his miracles, and the rulings he has given,

Згадуйте про чуда, які він сподіяв, про його дива й присуди з уст його.

13

you children of his servant Israel,
you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.

Діти Ізраїля, слуги його, сини Якова, вибрані його!

14

He is the LORD our God.
His justice is seen throughout the land.

14

Він Господь, Бог наш; присуди його по всьому світі.

15

Remember his covenant forever —
the commitment he made to a thousand generations.

15

Він пам'ятає вічно про завіт свій, про слово, що заповідав на тисячу родів,

16

This is the covenant he made with Abraham
and the oath he swore to Isaac.

16

про те, що заключив з Авраамом і в чому Ісаакові поклявся,

17

He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree,
and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant:

17

що поставив Яковові за тривку установу, Ізраїлеві — як завіт вічний,

18

“I will give you the land of Canaan
as your special possession.”

18

кажучи: Тобі дам Ханаан-землю, як вашу частку спадщини,

19

He said this when you were few in number,
a tiny group of strangers in Canaan.

19

хоч вас багато не було, — мало було, і були ви у ній чужинцями.

20

They wandered from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another.

20

Вони ходили від народу до народу з одного царства до іншого люду,

21

Yet he did not let anyone oppress them.
He warned kings on their behalf:

та він нікому не дозволив коїти кривду їм, карав за них царів.

22

“Do not touch my chosen people,
and do not hurt my prophets.”

22

Не доторкайтесь до моїх помазаників і пророкам моїм не заподіюйте лиха.

23

Let the whole earth sing to the LORD!
Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.

23

Співай же Господеві, уся земле, щоденно сповіщайте, як він спасає.

24

Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.
Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.

24

Оповіщайте між поганами про його славу, між усіма народами про його чуда.

25

Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise!
He is to be feared above all gods.

25

Бо Господь великий і велехвальний, страшний над усіма богами.

26

The gods of other nations are mere idols,
but the LORD made the heavens!

26

Бо всі боги поганські — ніщота, а Господь сотворив небеса.

27

Honor and majesty surround him;
strength and joy fill his dwelling.

27

Велич і блиск перед обличчям у нього, сила і сяйво в житлі його.

28

O nations of the world, recognize the LORD,
recognize that the LORD is glorious and strong.

28

Воздайте Господеві, сім'ї народів, воздайте Господеві славу й ясу!

29

Give to the LORD the glory he deserves!
Bring your offering and come into his presence.
Worship the LORD in all his holy splendor.

29

Воздайте Господеві, імені його славу; візьміть офіри, ідіть до нього; поклонітеся Господеві у святих шатах.

30

Let all the earth tremble before him.
The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

30

Дрижи перед ним, уся земле! Він заснував усесвіт, який не зрушиться.

31

Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice!
Tell all the nations, “The LORD reigns!”

31

Радійте, небеса, веселися, земле! Нехай скажуть між народами: Господь царює!

32

Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!

32

Нехай заграє море й все, що у ньому; нехай радіє поле й усе, що на ньому.

33

Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD,
for he is coming to judge the earth.

33

Тоді дерева в лісі, звеселені, загукають перед Господом, він бо йде судити землю.

34

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.

34

Славіте Господа, бо він добрий, бо вічна милость його.

35

Cry out, “Save us, O God of our salvation!
Gather and rescue us from among the nations,
so we can thank your holy name
and rejoice and praise you.”

35

І скажіте: Спаси нас, Боже нашого спасіння! Збери нас, урятуй нас із-між народів, щоб ми дякували твоєму святому імені і хвалилися славою твоєю.

36

Praise the LORD, the God of Israel,
who lives from everlasting to everlasting!
And all the people shouted “Amen!” and praised the LORD.

36

Благословен Господь, Бог Ізраїля, відвіку й довіку!” І ввесь народ сказав: “Амінь! Хвала Господеві!”

37

Worship at Jerusalem and Gibeon

David arranged for Asaph and his fellow Levites to serve regularly before the Ark of the LORD’s Covenant, doing whatever needed to be done each day.

37

Давид залишив там, перед кивотом Господнього союзу, Асафа та його братів, щоб вони служили перед кивотом завжди, згідно з завданням кожного дня;

38

This group included Obed-edom (son of Jeduthun), Hosah, and sixty-eight other Levites as gatekeepers.

38

Оведедома та його братів — 68 чоловік, — між ними Оведедома, сина Єдутуна, та Хосу — воротарями;

39

Meanwhile, David stationed Zadok the priest and his fellow priests at the Tabernacle of the LORD at the place of worship in Gibeon, where they continued to minister before the LORD.

39

Цадока, священика, та його братів священиків перед житлом Господнім на узвишші, що було в Пвеоні,

40

They sacrificed the regular burnt offerings to the LORD each morning and evening on the altar set aside for that purpose, obeying everything written in the Law of the LORD, as he had commanded Israel.

40

щоб приносили всепалення Господеві на жертовнику всепалення завжди, вранці й увечорі, та щоб виконувати все, що записане в законі Господа, який він наклав на Ізраїля;

41

David also appointed Heman, Jeduthun, and the others chosen by name to give thanks to the LORD, for “his faithful love endures forever.”

41

а з ними Гемана та Єдутуна й інших вибраних, що були призначені поіменно, щоб славити Господа, “бо його милость вічна”.

42

They used their trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments to accompany their songs of praise to God.b And the sons of Jeduthun were appointed as gatekeepers.

42

Вони мали сурми й цимбали, щоб грати на них гучно, а й прилади до співів для Бога. Сини Єдутуна були при дверях.

43

Then all the people returned to their homes, and David turned and went home to bless his own family.

43

І весь народ пішов, кожен до свого дому, а Давид повернувся, щоб поблагословити свій дім.
