Bildad’s First Response to Job

Then Bildad the Shuhite replied to Job:

1

Тогда Вилдад из Шуаха ответил:

“How long will you go on like this?
You sound like a blustering wind.

"Долго ли будешь ты так говорить? Слова твои будто сильный ветер.

3

Does God twist justice?
Does the Almighty twist what is right?

3

Бог не искажает справедливость. Бог Всемогущий неизменен, того, что правильно, не изменяет Он.

4

Your children must have sinned against him,
so their punishment was well deserved.

4

Согрешили против Бога дети твои, вот почему Он наказал их за грехи.

5

But if you pray to God
and seek the favor of the Almighty,

5

Но посмотри теперь, Иов, на Бога и, Всемогущему, Ему молись.

6

and if you are pure and live with integrity,
he will surely rise up and restore your happy home.

Коль добр ты и чист, Он не замедлит прийти на помощь, и Он вернет Тебе твою семью.

7

And though you started with little,
you will end with much.

7

И будешь ты иметь намного больше, чем было у тебя вначале.

“Just ask the previous generation.
Pay attention to the experience of our ancestors.

Спроси у стариков и сам узнай то, чему их предки научили.

9

For we were born but yesterday and know nothing.
Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow.

9

Ведь только кажется, что мы вчера родились. Мы слишком молоды, чтоб знать наверняка. Наши дни на земле не длиннее, чем полуденные тени.

10

But those who came before us will teach you.
They will teach you the wisdom of old.

10

Может, тебя научат старые люди, может, поделятся тем, чему научились сами".

“Can papyrus reeds grow tall without a marsh?
Can marsh grass flourish without water?

Спросил Вилдад: "Может ли вырасти на сухой земле папирус? Может ли расти без воды тростник?

12

While they are still flowering, not ready to be cut,
they begin to wither more quickly than grass.

Нет! Если вода высыхает, то они высохнут тоже. Они будут слишком малы, чтобы их срезать.

13

The same happens to all who forget God.
The hopes of the godless evaporate.

Кто забывает Бога, тот тростнику подобен. Забывающий Бога не имеет надежды.

14

Their confidence hangs by a thread.
They are leaning on a spider’s web.

Не на что ему опереться. Как паутина его безопасность.

15

They cling to their home for security, but it won’t last.
They try to hold it tight, but it will not endure.

15

Если к паутине ты прислонишься, то паутину порвёшь. Он держится за паутину, но в ней не находит поддержки.

16

The godless seem like a lush plant growing in the sunshine,
its branches spreading across the garden.

16

Он как растенье, что имело в достатке и воду, и солнце: раскидывает ветви над всем садом,

17

Its roots grow down through a pile of stones;
it takes hold on a bed of rocks.

корнями оплетает камни, стремится на скале расти.

18

But when it is uprooted,
it’s as though it never existed!

18

Но если его вырвут — сразу оно умрёт. Никто не вспомнит, что там росло.

19

That’s the end of its life,
and others spring up from the earth to replace it.

19

Но было счастливо оно. И вырастет другое там, где оно росло.

20

“But look, God will not reject a person of integrity,
nor will he lend a hand to the wicked.

20

Господь невинных не бросает. Злым помощи Он не дает.

21

He will once again fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy.

21

Господь тебя ещё наполнит смехом и вложит крики радости в уста.

22

Those who hate you will be clothed with shame,
and the home of the wicked will be destroyed.”

22

Но для врагов твоих позор одеждой станет. Разрушены будут жилища злодеев".
