Darby Bible Translation

  • Praise the LORD!
    Praise the name of the LORD!
    Praise him, you who serve the LORD,
  • Your Name Endures Forever

    Hallelujah! Praise the name of Jehovah; praise, ye servants of Jehovah,
  • you who serve in the house of the LORD,
    in the courts of the house of our God.
  • Ye that stand in the house of Jehovah, in the courts of the house of our God.
  • Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
    celebrate his lovely name with music.
  • Praise ye Jah; for Jehovah is good: sing psalms unto his name; for it is pleasant.
  • For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself,
    Israel for his own special treasure.
  • For Jah hath chosen Jacob unto himself, Israel for his own possession.
  • I know the greatness of the LORD —
    that our Lord is greater than any other god.
  • For *I* know that Jehovah is great, and our Lord is above all gods.
  • The LORD does whatever pleases him
    throughout all heaven and earth,
    and on the seas and in their depths.
  • Whatsoever Jehovah pleased, he hath done in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all deeps;
  • He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth.
    He sends the lightning with the rain
    and releases the wind from his storehouses.
  • Who causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; who maketh lightnings for the rain; who bringeth the wind out of his treasuries:
  • He destroyed the firstborn in each Egyptian home,
    both people and animals.
  • Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast;
  • He performed miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt
    against Pharaoh and all his people.
  • Who sent signs and miracles into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants;
  • He struck down great nations
    and slaughtered mighty kings —
  • Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings,
  • Sihon king of the Amorites,
    Og king of Bashan,
    and all the kings of Canaan.
  • Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
  • He gave their land as an inheritance,
    a special possession to his people Israel.
  • And gave their land for an inheritance, an inheritance unto Israel his people.
  • Your name, O LORD, endures forever;
    your fame, O LORD, is known to every generation.
  • Thy name, O Jehovah, is for ever; thy memorial, O Jehovah, from generation to generation.
  • For the LORD will give justice to his people
    and have compassion on his servants.
  • For Jehovah will judge his people, and will repent in favour of his servants.
  • The idols of the nations are merely things of silver and gold,
    shaped by human hands.
  • The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands:
  • They have mouths but cannot speak,
    and eyes but cannot see.
  • They have a mouth, and they speak not; eyes have they, and they see not;
  • They have ears but cannot hear,
    and mouths but cannot breathe.
  • They have ears, and they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouth.
  • And those who make idols are just like them,
    as are all who trust in them.
  • They that make them are like unto them, -- every one that confideth in them.
  • O Israel, praise the LORD!
    O priests — descendants of Aaron — praise the LORD!
  • House of Israel, bless ye Jehovah; house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah;
  • O Levites, praise the LORD!
    All you who fear the LORD, praise the LORD!
  • House of Levi, bless ye Jehovah; ye that fear Jehovah, bless Jehovah.
  • The LORD be praised from Zion,
    for he lives here in Jerusalem.
    Praise the LORD!
  • Blessed be Jehovah out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem! Hallelujah!
