O LORD, I have come to you for protection;
don’t let me be disgraced.
Save me, for you do what is right.

Проводиреві хора: Псальма Давидова. На тебе вповаю, Господи; не дай менї осоромитись по віки; по твоїй справедливостї спаси мене.

Turn your ear to listen to me;
rescue me quickly.
Be my rock of protection,
a fortress where I will be safe.

Нахили до мене ухо твоє, спаси мене скоро! Будь менї баштою, домом оборонним, щоб спасти мене!

3

You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.

Ти бо єси скеля моя, башта моя, і задля імени твого веди мене й навчай мене.

4

Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me,
for I find protection in you alone.

Виведи мене з сїтки, що тайно заставили її на мене; ти бо єси твердиня моя.

5

I entrust my spirit into your hand.
Rescue me, LORD, for you are a faithful God.

В руки твої віддаю духа мого; ти ізбавив мене, Господи, Боже правди!

I hate those who worship worthless idols.
I trust in the LORD.

Зненавидїв я тих, що вважають на божища нїкчемні; я ж вповав на Господа.

7

I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love,
for you have seen my troubles,
and you care about the anguish of my soul.

Зрадїю серцем і звеселюся задля милосердя твого; бачивши горе моє, ти знав тїсноту душі моєї,

You have not handed me over to my enemies
but have set me in a safe place.

І не віддав мене ворогові в руки, поставив ноги мої на широкому просторі.

9

Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am in distress.
Tears blur my eyes.
My body and soul are withering away.

Змилуйся надо мною, Господи! Бо я в тїснотї; із журби запались очі мої, душа моя і внутро моє.

10

I am dying from grief;
my years are shortened by sadness.
Sin has drained my strength;
I am wasting away from within.

Бо в горю нидїє життє моє, і лїта мої в зітханню; в несправедливостї ізнемоглась сила моя, і костї мої струпішіли.

11

I am scorned by all my enemies
and despised by my neighbors —
even my friends are afraid to come near me.
When they see me on the street,
they run the other way.

Став я посьміховиском не то що для всїх ворогів моїх, а й надто ще більше для сусїдів моїх, і страшилом для знакомих моїх; хто бачить мене на улицї, той втїкає від мене.

I am ignored as if I were dead,
as if I were a broken pot.

Забуто мене в серцї, як помершого; став я наче розбита посудина.

13

I have heard the many rumors about me,
and I am surrounded by terror.
My enemies conspire against me,
plotting to take my life.

Чув бо я брехню від багацько людей — кругом пострах — як всї змовлялись проти мене; вони чигали на життє моє.

14

But I am trusting you, O LORD,
saying, “You are my God!”

Я ж, я вповав на тебе, Господи, я казав: ти єси Бог мій!

15

My future is in your hands.
Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly.

15

Днї мої в руках твоїх; вирятуй мене з рук ворога мого і від гонителїв моїх!

16

Let your favor shine on your servant.
In your unfailing love, rescue me.

Сьвіти лицем твоїм на слугу твого, спаси мене по милостї твоїй!

17

Don’t let me be disgraced, O LORD,
for I call out to you for help.
Let the wicked be disgraced;
let them lie silent in the grave.a

17

Господи, не допусти сорому на мене, бо я призвав тебе на поміч! Побий соромом беззаконних, нехай в пеклї нїміють!

18

Silence their lying lips —
those proud and arrogant lips that accuse the godly.

18

Зацїпи уста брехливі, що в гордостї і зневазї верзять мерзоту проти праведника!

19

How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world.

19

Як велика доброта твоя, що зберіг єси для боящихся тебе, що явив перед синами людськими людям, що вповають на тебе.

20

You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
safe from those who conspire against them.
You shelter them in your presence,
far from accusing tongues.

20

Ти сховаєш їх у сховку перед лицем твоїм від заговорів людських; ти сховаєш їх у домівцї від язиків сварливих.

21

Praise the LORD,
for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love.
He kept me safe when my city was under attack.

Благословен Господь! Бо чудно явив він на менї милість свою в оборонному містї.

22

In panic I cried out,
“I am cut off from the LORD!”
But you heard my cry for mercy
and answered my call for help.

Сказав я, правда, в переляку: Я відлучений від очей твоїх; та все ж таки ти почув голос мого благання, як я взивав до тебе.

23

Love the LORD, all you godly ones!
For the LORD protects those who are loyal to him,
but he harshly punishes the arrogant.

23

Полюбіть Господа, всї його праведні! Вірних сохранить Господь, а сповна відплатить тому, хто живе в гординї.

24

So be strong and courageous,
all you who put your hope in the LORD!

24

Будьте сильні і майте в серцї одвагу, ви всї, що вповаєте на Господа.
