New Living Translation

King James Bible

  • For the choir director: A psalm of David, the servant of the LORD.

Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts.a
They have no fear of God at all.
  • There is No Fear of God Before his Eyes

{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD.} The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
  • In their blind conceit,
they cannot see how wicked they really are.
  • For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
  • Everything they say is crooked and deceitful.
They refuse to act wisely or do good.
  • The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
  • They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots.
    Their actions are never good.
They make no attempt to turn from evil.
  • He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
  • Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
  • Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
  • Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O LORD.
  • Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
  • How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
    All humanity finds shelter
in the shadow of your wings.
  • How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
  • You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
letting them drink from your river of delights.
  • They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
  • For you are the fountain of life,
the light by which we see.
  • For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
  • Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you;
give justice to those with honest hearts.
  • O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
  • Don’t let the proud trample me
or the wicked push me around.
  • Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
  • Look! Those who do evil have fallen!
They are thrown down, never to rise again.
  • There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
