New Living Translation

King James Bible

  • For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by the flute.

    O LORD, hear me as I pray;
    pay attention to my groaning.
  • Consider My Meditation

    {To the chief Musician upon Nehiloth, A Psalm of David.} Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
  • Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God,
    for I pray to no one but you.
  • Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
  • Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD.
    Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
  • My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
  • O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness;
    you cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked.
  • For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
  • Therefore, the proud may not stand in your presence,
    for you hate all who do evil.
  • The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
  • You will destroy those who tell lies.
    The LORD detests murderers and deceivers.
  • Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
  • Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house;
    I will worship at your Temple with deepest awe.
  • But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
  • Lead me in the right path, O LORD,
    or my enemies will conquer me.
    Make your way plain for me to follow.
  • Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
  • My enemies cannot speak a truthful word.
    Their deepest desire is to destroy others.
    Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave.
    Their tongues are filled with flattery.a
  • For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
  • O God, declare them guilty.
    Let them be caught in their own traps.
    Drive them away because of their many sins,
    for they have rebelled against you.
  • Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
  • But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
    let them sing joyful praises forever.
    Spread your protection over them,
    that all who love your name may be filled with joy.
  • But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
  • For you bless the godly, O LORD;
    you surround them with your shield of love.
  • For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
