    The LORD said to Moses,
  • Offerings for the Tabernacle

    And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
  • “Tell the people of Israel to bring me their sacred offerings. Accept the contributions from all whose hearts are moved to offer them.
  • Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me a heave-offering: of every one whose heart prompteth him, ye shall take my heave-offering.
  • Here is a list of sacred offerings you may accept from them:
    gold, silver, and bronze;
  • And this is the heave-offering that ye shall take of them: gold, and silver, and copper,
  • blue, purple, and scarlet thread;
    fine linen and goat hair for cloth;
  • and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and byssus, and goats' [hair],
  • tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather;
    acacia wood;
  • and rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins; and acacia-wood;
  • olive oil for the lamps;
    spices for the anointing oil and the fragrant incense;
  • oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil, and for the incense of fragrant drugs;
  • onyx stones, and other gemstones to be set in the ephod and the priest’s chestpiece.
  • onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.
  • “Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.
  • And they shall make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.
  • You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you.
  • According to all that I shall shew thee, the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the utensils thereof, even so shall ye make [it].

  • Overlay it inside and outside with pure gold, and run a molding of gold all around it.
  • And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold: inside and outside shalt thou overlay it; and shalt make upon it a border of gold round about.
  • Cast four gold rings and attach them to its four feet, two rings on each side.
  • And cast four rings of gold for it, and put [them] at the four corners thereof, that two rings may be upon the one side thereof and two rings upon the other side thereof.
  • Make poles from acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
  • And make staves of acacia-wood and overlay them with gold.
  • Insert the poles into the rings at the sides of the Ark to carry it.
  • And put the staves into the rings upon the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.
  • These carrying poles must stay inside the rings; never remove them.
  • The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not come out from it.
  • When the Ark is finished, place inside it the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant,b which I will give to you.
  • And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony that I shall give thee.
  • “Then make the Ark’s cover — the place of atonement — from pure gold. It must be 45 inches long and 27 inches wide.c

  • And make one cherub at the end of the one side, and one cherub at the end of the other side; out of the mercy-seat shall ye make the cherubim at the two ends thereof.
  • The cherubim will face each other and look down on the atonement cover. With their wings spread above it, they will protect it.
  • And the cherubim shall stretch out [their] wings over it, covering over with their wings the mercy-seat, and their faces opposite to one another: toward the mercy-seat shall the faces of the cherubim be [turned].
  • Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark.
  • And thou shalt put the mercy-seat above on the ark, and shalt put in the ark the testimony that I shall give thee.
  • I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant.d From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.
