Judgment against Judah

The Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies,
will take away from Jerusalem and Judah
everything they depend on:
every bit of bread
and every drop of water,

Вот, Господь, Господь Саваоф, отнимет у Иерусалима и у Иуды посох и трость, всякое подкрепление хлебом и всякое подкрепление водою,

2

all their heroes and soldiers,
judges and prophets,
fortune-tellers and elders,

2

храброго вождя и воина, судью и пророка, и прозорливца и старца,

3

army officers and high officials,
advisers, skilled sorcerers, and astrologers.

3

пятидесятника и вельможу и советника, и мудрого художника и искусного в слове.

4

I will make boys their leaders,
and toddlers their rulers.

4

И дам им отроков в начальники, и дети будут господствовать над ними.

5

People will oppress each other —
man against man,
neighbor against neighbor.
Young people will insult their elders,
and vulgar people will sneer at the honorable.

И в народе один будет угнетаем другим, и каждый — ближним своим; юноша будет нагло превозноситься над старцем, и простолюдин над вельможею.

In those days a man will say to his brother,
“Since you have a coat, you be our leader!
Take charge of this heap of ruins!”

Тогда ухватится человек за брата своего, в семействе отца своего, и скажет: «у тебя есть одежда, будь нашим вождём, и да будут эти развалины под рукою твоею».

7

But he will reply,
“No! I can’t help.
I don’t have any extra food or clothes.
Don’t put me in charge!”

А он с клятвою скажет: «не могу исцелить ран общества; и в моём доме нет ни хлеба, ни одежды; не делайте меня вождём народа».

8

For Jerusalem will stumble,
and Judah will fall,
because they speak out against the LORD and refuse to obey him.
They provoke him to his face.

Так рушился Иерусалим, и пал Иуда, потому что язык их и дела их — против Господа, оскорбительны для очей славы Его.

9

The very look on their faces gives them away.
They display their sin like the people of Sodom
and don’t even try to hide it.
They are doomed!
They have brought destruction upon themselves.

Выражение лиц их свидетельствует против них, и о грехе своём они рассказывают открыто, как Содомляне, не скрывают: горе душе их! ибо сами на себя навлекают зло.

10

Tell the godly that all will be well for them.
They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned!

Скажите праведнику, что благо ему, ибо он будет вкушать плоды дел своих;

11

But the wicked are doomed,
for they will get exactly what they deserve.

11

а беззаконнику — горе, ибо будет ему возмездие за дела рук его.

12

Childish leaders oppress my people,
and women rule over them.
O my people, your leaders mislead you;
they send you down the wrong road.

Притеснители народа Моего — дети, и женщины господствуют над ним. Народ Мой! вожди твои вводят тебя в заблуждение и путь стезей твоих испортили.

13

The LORD takes his place in court
and presents his case against his people.a

13

Восстал Господь на суд — и стоит, чтобы судить народы.

14

The LORD comes forward to pronounce judgment
on the elders and rulers of his people:
“You have ruined Israel, my vineyard.
Your houses are filled with things stolen from the poor.

14

Господь вступает в суд со старейшинами народа Своего и с князьями его: вы опустошили виноградник; награбленное у бедного — в ваших домах;

15

How dare you crush my people,
grinding the faces of the poor into the dust?”
demands the Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
A Warning to Jerusalem

что вы тесните народ Мой и угнетаете бедных? говорит Господь, Господь Саваоф.

16

The LORD says, “Beautiful Zionb is haughty:
craning her elegant neck,
flirting with her eyes,
walking with dainty steps,
tinkling her ankle bracelets.

16

И сказал Господь: за то, что дочери Сиона надменны и ходят, подняв шею и обольщая взорами, и выступают величавою поступью и гремят цепочками на ногах, —

17

So the Lord will send scabs on her head;
the LORD will make beautiful Zion bald.”

17

оголит Господь темя дочерей Сиона и обнажит Господь срамоту их;

18

On that day of judgment
the Lord will strip away everything that makes her beautiful:
ornaments, headbands, crescent necklaces,

в тот день отнимет Господь красивые цепочки на ногах и звёздочки, и луночки,

19

earrings, bracelets, and veils;

19

серьги, и ожерелья, и опахала, увясла и запястья, и пояса, и сосудцы с духами, и привески волшебные,

20

scarves, ankle bracelets, sashes,
perfumes, and charms;

20

перстни и кольца в носу,

21

rings, jewels,

21

верхнюю одежду и нижнюю, и платки, и кошельки,

22

party clothes, gowns, capes, and purses;

22

светлые тонкие епанчи и повязки, и покрывала.

23

mirrors, fine linen garments,
head ornaments, and shawls.

23

И будет вместо благовония зловоние, и вместо пояса будет верёвка, и вместо завитых волос — плешь, и вместо широкой епанчи — узкое вретище, вместо красоты — клеймо.

24

Instead of smelling of sweet perfume, she will stink.
She will wear a rope for a sash,
and her elegant hair will fall out.
She will wear rough burlap instead of rich robes.
Shame will replace her beauty.c

Мужи твои падут от меча, и храбрые твои — на войне.

25

The men of the city will be killed with the sword,
and her warriors will die in battle.

25

И будут воздыхать и плакать ворота столицы, и будет она сидеть на земле опустошённая.
