Hezekiah’s Sickness and Recovery

About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to visit him. He gave the king this message: “This is what the LORD says: ‘Set your affairs in order, for you are going to die. You will not recover from this illness.’”

Езекия в то время заболел смертельной болезнью. Пророк Исайя навестил его и сказал: "Господь передал мне такие слова для тебя: ты скоро умрёшь, поэтому ты должен сделать завещание своей семье. Ты не поправишься, ты умрёшь".

When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,

“Remember, O LORD, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly.

"Господи, вспомни, что всегда перед Тобой я был чист и честен сердцем своим, я делал то, что было Тебе угодно". И Езекия горько заплакал.

Then this message came to Isaiah from the LORD:

И получил Исайя весть от Господа:

“Go back to Hezekiah and tell him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will add fifteen years to your life,

"Пойди к Езекии и скажи, что Господь, Бог Давида, отца твоего, говорит: "Я услышал молитву твою и увидел слезы твоего горя. Я добавлю тебе пятнадцать лет жизни.

and I will rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. Yes, I will defend this city.

Я спасу тебя от царя Ассирии и защищу твой город". Но Езекия спросил Исайю: "Что это за знамение Господнее, убеждающее, что я излечусь, что я буду ходить в храм Господний?"

“‘And this is the sign from the LORD to prove that he will do as he promised:

"Вот знамение тебе от Господа в знак того, что Он исполнит слово Своё.

I will cause the sun’s shadow to move ten steps backward on the sundiala of Ahaz!’” So the shadow on the sundial moved backward ten steps.

Он говорит: "Посмотри, Я возвращаю тень на ступени Ахаза на десять ступеней назад". И сказал тогда Исайя Езекии: " Ты должен надавить смоквы и приложить это к ране своей. Тогда ты излечишься".

Hezekiah’s Poem of Praise

When King Hezekiah was well again, he wrote this poem:

Вот письмо Езекии, когда он выздоровел от болезни:

I said, “In the prime of my life,
must I now enter the place of the dead?b
Am I to be robbed of the rest of my years?”

Сказал я себе, что буду до старости жить, но пришло моё время пройти сквозь ворота преисподней, где я останусь навсегда.

I said, “Never again will I see the LORD God
while still in the land of the living.
Never again will I see my friends
or be with those who live in this world.

И я сказал, что не увижу Господа, я не увижу более людей.

My life has been blown away
like a shepherd’s tent in a storm.
It has been cut short,
as when a weaver cuts cloth from a loom.
Suddenly, my life was over.

Мой дом, шатёр пастушеский, снят с места, со мной покончено, как с тканью, которую сворачивают, срезая с ткацкого станка. Ты рано жизнь мою закончил.

I waited patiently all night,
but I was torn apart as though by lions.
Suddenly, my life was over.

Всю ночь рыдал я громко, но все мои надежды рассыпались, как кости в пасти льва. Ты рано жизнь мою закончил.

14

Delirious, I chattered like a swallow or a crane,
and then I moaned like a mourning dove.
My eyes grew tired of looking to heaven for help.
I am in trouble, Lord. Help me!”

Как голубь плакал я, щебетал, как стриж, и в скорби я глядел на небо: Владыка, подтверди, что мне поможешь, яви мне доказательство того.

15

But what could I say?
For he himself sent this sickness.
Now I will walk humbly throughout my years
because of this anguish I have felt.

Что я могу сказать? Господь дал мне ответ и сделал так, что всё это случилось! Смиренен буду я остаток жизни, ибо мне горько на душе.

16

Lord, your discipline is good,
for it leads to life and health.
You restore my health
and allow me to live!

Владыка мой, так оживи мой дух тяжёлым испытанием и помоги стать сильным и здоровым духу моему, верни здоровье мне и жизнь мне возврати!

17

Yes, this anguish was good for me,
for you have rescued me from death
and forgiven all my sins.

Взгляни, минули мои беды, мир снизошёл ко мне. Ты меня сильно любишь, Ты мне не дал уйти в могилу и все мои грехи отбросил далеко.

18

For the deadc cannot praise you;
they cannot raise their voices in praise.
Those who go down to the grave
can no longer hope in your faithfulness.

Не воспевают мёртвые Тебя, кто в преисподней, тот не восхваляет Тебя, не верит в Твою помощь, они в могилах и всегда молчат.

19

Only the living can praise you as I do today.
Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.

Кто жив, как я сейчас, те Тебя хвалят. И должен детям передать отец, что верить можно лишь в Тебя.

20

Think of it — the LORD is ready to heal me!
I will sing his praises with instruments
every day of my life
in the Temple of the LORD.

И говорю я: "Спас меня Господь! Так будем воспевать всю жизнь мы песни во храме Господа!"
