“In that day,” says the LORD, “the enemy will break open the graves of the kings and officials of Judah, and the graves of the priests, prophets, and common people of Jerusalem.

Господь говорит: "В это время люди будут выбрасывать кости царей и правителей Иудеи из их захоронений. Они вынесут кости священников и пророков из их гробниц, кости жителей Иерусалима из их могил.

They will spread out their bones on the ground before the sun, moon, and stars — the gods my people have loved, served, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered up again or buried but will be scattered on the ground like manure.

И разбросают эти кости по земле под солнцем, под луной, под звёздами. Жители Иерусалима любят поклоняться солнцу, луне и звездам. Никто не соберёт этих костей и не похоронит их снова, и кости этих людей будут словно навоз на земле.

And the people of this evil nation who survive will wish to die rather than live where I will send them. I, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!

Я заставлю людей Иудеи оставить их дома и землю, и они будут изгнаны в чужие земли. И те из людей Иудеи, кто не был убит на войне, будут желать себе смерти". Так говорит Господь Всемогущий.

Deception by False Prophets

“Jeremiah, say to the people, ‘This is what the LORD says:
“‘When people fall down, don’t they get up again?
When they discover they’re on the wrong road, don’t they turn back?

"Иеремия, скажи народам Иудеи, что так говорит Господь: "Если человек упал, то он встаёт, а если он идёт неправильной дорогой, то поворачивает и идёт назад".

Then why do these people stay on their self-destructive path?
Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back?
They cling tightly to their lies
and will not turn around.

Народы Иудеи шли неправильным путём, но почему же они и дальше так идут и продолжают верить лжи, и не желают повернуться и правильным путём пойти?

I listen to their conversations
and don’t hear a word of truth.
Is anyone sorry for doing wrong?
Does anyone say, “What a terrible thing I have done”?
No! All are running down the path of sin
as swiftly as a horse galloping into battle!

Я слушал их внимательно, но верно не ответил ни один. Все эти люди не сожалеют о своих грехах, не думают о сотворённом зле, бездумно поступая, словно кони, несущиеся в битву.

Even the stork that flies across the sky
knows the time of her migration,
as do the turtledove, the swallow, and the crane.a
They all return at the proper time each year.
But not my people!
They do not know the LORD’s laws.

Ведь даже птицы знают своё время: и аисты, и голуби, дрозды, стрижи — все знают, когда приходит время перелёта, но Мой народ не знает, чего Господь желает им.

“‘How can you say, “We are wise because we have the word of the LORD,”
when your teachers have twisted it by writing lies?

Ты продолжаешь утверждать: "У нас есть поучения Господни, и мы мудры". Но это всё не так, поскольку лгали перьями писцы.

These wise teachers will fall
into the trap of their own foolishness,
for they have rejected the word of the LORD.
Are they so wise after all?

Те "мудрецы" Господни поучения отказывались слушать, поэтому не мудрецы они — в капкан они попали и опозорились.

I will give their wives to others
and their farms to strangers.
From the least to the greatest,
their lives are ruled by greed.
Yes, even my prophets and priests are like that.
They are all frauds.

Я за других отдам их жён, поля отдам другим владельцам. Они все только о деньгах мечтают, от самого ничтожного до знатного. Все, от пророков до священников, — все лгут.

They offer superficial treatments
for my people’s mortal wound.
They give assurances of peace
when there is no peace.

Большую боль народ Мой претерпел — пророки и священники должны на раны наложить повязки, но, как царапины, они врачуют раны. Они говорят, что раны не опасны, но раны их смертельны.

Are they ashamed of these disgusting actions?
Not at all — they don’t even know how to blush!
Therefore, they will lie among the slaughtered.
They will be brought down when I punish them,
says the LORD.

Пророкам и священникам должно быть стыдно за свои поступки, но им неведом стыд за их грехи, и ждёт их наказание со всеми. Я брошу оземь их, когда приду наказывать людей". Так говорит Господь.

I will surely consume them.
There will be no more harvests of figs and grapes.
Their fruit trees will all die.
Whatever I gave them will soon be gone.
I, the LORD, have spoken!’

"Я заберу все их плоды, весь урожай, — говорит Господь, — Я не оставлю ни виноградины на виноградниках, ни смоквы на смоковницах, и даже высохнет листва. Я всё возьму, что дал".

“Then the people will say,
‘Why should we wait here to die?
Come, let’s go to the fortified towns and die there.
For the LORD our God has decreed our destruction
and has given us a cup of poison to drink
because we sinned against the LORD.

"Почему мы сидим, вставайте, побежим в большие города! Если хочет Господь нас убить, то умрём в городах. Мы грешили против Бога, и Он даёт нам пить воду с ядом.

15

We hoped for peace, but no peace came.
We hoped for a time of healing, but found only terror.’

Мы надеялись, что мир к нам придёт, но добра не дождались; надеялись, что простит нас Господь, но дождались несчастий.

“The snorting of the enemies’ warhorses can be heard
all the way from the land of Dan in the north!
The neighing of their stallions makes the whole land tremble.
They are coming to devour the land and everything in it —
cities and people alike.

И возле Дана слышно ржание коней: под копытами их дрожит земля, они разрушат всё, что есть на нашей земле, уничтожат города и живущих в них".

17

I will send these enemy troops among you
like poisonous snakes you cannot charm.
They will bite you, and you will die.
I, the LORD, have spoken!”
Jeremiah Weeps for Sinful Judah

"Я посылаю на вас, народ Иудеи, змей ядовитых; их нельзя приручить, и они будут вас жалить". Так говорит Господь.

My grief is beyond healing;
my heart is broken.

Господи, я в печали, Господи, я испуган!

Listen to the weeping of my people;
it can be heard all across the land.
“Has the LORD abandoned Jerusalem?b” the people ask.
“Is her King no longer there?”
“Oh, why have they provoked my anger with their carved idols
and their worthless foreign gods?” says the LORD.

Услышь людей моих — по всей стране о помощи все молят со слезами и говорят: "На Сионе ли Господь? Царь не покинул ли Сиона?" Но говорит Господь: "Народы Иудеи ничтожным идолам, чужим богам все поклонялись и разгневали Меня. Зачем они так поступали?"

20

“The harvest is finished,
and the summer is gone,” the people cry,
“yet we are not saved!”

И люди говорят: "И жатва завершилась, и лето кончилось, а нам спасения нет".

21

I hurt with the hurt of my people.
I mourn and am overcome with grief.

Больно народу моему — значит больно и мне. Я так печален, что я не в силах говорить.

22

Is there no medicine in Gilead?
Is there no physician there?
Why is there no healing
for the wounds of my people?

Конечно, в Галааде есть врачи, конечно, в Галааде есть лекарства, но почему ж не исцелён народ мой?
