Judgment against Israel’s Mountains

Again a message came to me from the LORD:

1

Надійшло до мене таке слово Господнє:

“Son of man, turn and face the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.

«Сину чоловічий! Оберни твоє лице до гір ізраїльських і пророкуй проти них.

3

Proclaim this message from the Sovereign LORD against the mountains of Israel. This is what the Sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills and to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring war upon you, and I will smash your pagan shrines.

І скажи: Гори ізраїльські! Слухайте слово Владики Господа: Так говорить Владика Господь до гір, до горбів, до байраків і до долин: Ось я наведу на вас меч і знищу ваші висоти.

All your altars will be demolished, and your places of worship will be destroyed. I will kill your people in front of your idols.a

Ваші жертовники будуть повалені, ваші стовпи на честь сонця будуть порозбивані, а ваших поранених на смерть я покладу трупами перед вашими божищами.

I will lay your corpses in front of your idols and scatter your bones around your altars.

5

Я покладу трупи синів Ізраїля перед їхніми бовванами й порозкидаю кості ваші навкруги жертовників ваших.

Wherever you live there will be desolation, and I will destroy your pagan shrines. Your altars will be demolished, your idols will be smashed, your places of worship will be torn down, and all the religious objects you have made will be destroyed.

Скрізь, де б ви не оселились, міста будуть знищені, і висоти зруйновані, щоб знищити й спустошити ваші жертовники, щоб порозбивати й знищити ваші божища, щоб порозвалювати ваші стовпи на честь сонця, щоб знищити діла ваші.

The place will be littered with corpses, and you will know that I alone am the LORD.

Поранені на смерть падатимуть серед вас, і ви зрозумієте, що я — Господь.

“But I will let a few of my people escape destruction, and they will be scattered among the nations of the world.

Коли деякі з вас врятуються від меча між народами, коли ви будете розкидані по їхніх країнах,

Then when they are exiled among the nations, they will remember me. They will recognize how hurt I am by their unfaithful hearts and lustful eyes that long for their idols. Then at last they will hate themselves for all their detestable sins.

ваші врятовані згадають мене між народами, куди їх позаймають у полон, як я розіб'ю їхнє блудне серце, що відпало від мене, та їхні очі, що блудять за бовванами, і самі вони гидуватимуть собою з-за всіх своїх мерзот, що накоїли;

They will know that I alone am the LORD and that I was serious when I said I would bring this calamity on them.

і зрозуміють вони, що то я — Господь, і що я не даремно погрожував учинити їм це лихо.»

“This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Clap your hands in horror, and stamp your feet. Cry out because of all the detestable sins the people of Israel have committed. Now they are going to die from war and famine and disease.

Так говорить Господь Бог: «Сплесни руками й тупни ногою, і скажи: Ох лишенько! — з-за всіх огидних мерзот дому Ізраїля — вони поляжуть від меча, голоднечі й чуми!

Disease will strike down those who are far away in exile. War will destroy those who are nearby. And anyone who survives will be killed by famine. So at last I will spend my fury on them.

Хто далеко — помре від чуми, а хто близько — поляже від меча, хто ж в облозі — згине від голоднечі. Отак я довершу на них гнів мій.

They will know that I am the LORD when their dead lie scattered among their idols and altars on every hill and mountain and under every green tree and every great shade tree — the places where they offered sacrifices to their idols.

Вони зрозуміють, що я — Господь, як їхні смертельно поранені лежатимуть серед їхніх бовванів, навкруги їхніх жертовників, по всіх високих горбах, по всіх верхів'ях гір, під кожним зеленим деревом, під кожним дубом рясним, скрізь, де вони палили запашні кадила всім своїм бовванам.

I will crush them and make their cities desolate from the wilderness in the south to Riblahb in the north. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”

Я простягну мою руку проти них і зроблю країну безлюдною пустелею, від пустині до Рівли, по всіх їхніх оселях. І вони зрозуміють, що я — Господь.»
