The LORD gave this message to Micah of Moresheth during the years when Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah. The visions he saw concerned both Samaria and Jerusalem.
Grief over Samaria and Jerusalem

І Господнє слово було до Міхея, сина Морастія, у дні Йоатама, Ахаза і Езекії, царів Юди, про те, що він побачив про Самарію і про Єрусалим.

Attention! Let all the people of the world listen!
Let the earth and everything in it hear.
The Sovereign LORD is making accusations against you;
the Lord speaks from his holy Temple.

Послухайте, народи, слова, і нехай сприйме земля і всі, що на ній, і Господь буде між вами на свідчення, Господь з Його святого дому.

Look! The LORD is coming!
He leaves his throne in heaven
and tramples the heights of the earth.

Тому що ось Господь виходить зі Свого місця і зійде, і піде на висоту землі,

The mountains melt beneath his feet
and flow into the valleys
like wax in a fire,
like water pouring down a hill.

і під Ним захитаються гори, і долини розтануть, неначе віск перед обличчям вогню, і як вода, що проноситься по схилі.

And why is this happening?
Because of the rebellion of Israela —
yes, the sins of the whole nation.
Who is to blame for Israel’s rebellion?
Samaria, its capital city!
Where is the center of idolatry in Judah?
In Jerusalem, its capital!

Через безбожність Якова це все і через гріх дому Ізраїля. Яка безбожність Якова? Чи не Самарія? І який гріх дому Юди? Чи не Єрусалим?

“So I, the LORD, will make the city of Samaria
a heap of ruins.
Her streets will be plowed up
for planting vineyards.
I will roll the stones of her walls into the valley below,
exposing her foundations.

І поставлю Самарію на склад овочів поля й на садження винограду, і розтягну до замішання її каміння, і відкрию її основи.

All her carved images will be smashed.
All her sacred treasures will be burned.
These things were bought with the money
earned by her prostitution,
and they will now be carried away
to pay prostitutes elsewhere.”

І вони знищать усі її божища, і все її найняте спалять у вогні, і Я поставлю всіх її ідолів на знищення. Тому що вона зібрала з найму розпусти і нагромадила з найму розпусти.

Therefore, I will mourn and lament.
I will walk around barefoot and naked.
I will howl like a jackal
and moan like an owl.

Через це вона заплаче і заридає, піде без взуття і оголеною, зчинить голосіння, наче зміїв, і плач, наче дочок сирен.

For my people’s wound
is too deep to heal.
It has reached into Judah,
even to the gates of Jerusalem.

Бо її рана стала сильною, тому що прийшла аж до Юди і доторкнулася аж до брам мого народу, до Єрусалима.

Don’t tell our enemies in Gathb;
don’t weep at all.
You people in Beth-leaphrah,c
roll in the dust to show your despair.

Ті, що в Ґеті, не величайтеся. Ви, що в Акімі, не будуйте з дому те, що на висміювання, землю накладайте замість вашого насміхання.

You people in Shaphir,d
go as captives into exile — naked and ashamed.
The people of Zaanane
dare not come outside their walls.
The people of Beth-ezelf mourn,
for their house has no support.

Та, що гарно замешкує свої міста, не вийшла, — та, що замешкує Сеннаан, щоб оплакувати дім, який поблизу неї, вона отримає від вас рану болю.

The people of Marothg anxiously wait for relief,
but only bitterness awaits them
as the LORD’s judgment reaches
even to the gates of Jerusalem.

Хто почав на добро для тієї, що живе в болях? Адже зло зійшло від Господа на брами Єрусалима,

Harness your chariot horses and flee,
you people of Lachish.h
You were the first city in Judah
to follow Israel in her rebellion,
and you led Jerusalemi into sin.

шум колісниць і кінноти. Та, що живе в Лахісі, вона є володарем гріха для дочки Сіону, бо в тобі знайдено безчестя Ізраїля.

14

Send farewell gifts to Moresheth-gathj;
there is no hope of saving it.
The town of Aczibk
has deceived the kings of Israel.

Через це даси висланих аж до спадку Ґета, до безумних домів. Марнотою було для царів Ізраїля.

15

O people of Mareshah,l
I will bring a conqueror to capture your town.
And the leadersm of Israel
will go to Adullam.

Аж доки не приведу спадкоємців тобі, що замешкуєш Лахіс, спадок, аж до Одоллама прийде слава дочки Ізраїля.

16

Oh, people of Judah, shave your heads in sorrow,
for the children you love will be snatched away.
Make yourselves as bald as a vulture,
for your little ones will be exiled to distant lands.

Щоб оголити і остригти твоїх тендітних дітей, пошир твоє вдівство як орел, бо від тебе вони забрані в полон.
