  • Paul Greets His Friends

I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a deacon in the church in Cenchrea.
  • Personal Greetings and Love

    But I commend to you Phoebe, our sister, who is minister of the assembly which is in Cenchrea;
  • Welcome her in the Lord as one who is worthy of honor among God’s people. Help her in whatever she needs, for she has been helpful to many, and especially to me.
  • that ye may receive her in [the] Lord worthily of saints, and that ye may assist her in whatever matter she has need of you; for *she* also has been a helper of many, and of myself.
  • Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in the ministry of Christ Jesus.
  • Salute Prisca and Aquila, my fellow-workmen in Christ Jesus,
  • In fact, they once risked their lives for me. I am thankful to them, and so are all the Gentile churches.
  • (who for my life staked their own neck; to whom not *I* only am thankful, but also all the assemblies of the nations,)
  • Also give my greetings to the church that meets in their home.
Greet my dear friend Epenetus. He was the first person from the province of Asia to become a follower of Christ.
  • and the assembly at their house. Salute Epaenetus, my beloved, who is [the] first-fruits of Asia for Christ.
  • Give my greetings to Mary, who has worked so hard for your benefit.
  • Salute Maria, who laboured much for you.
  • Greet Andronicus and Junia,a my fellow Jews,b who were in prison with me. They are highly respected among the apostles and became followers of Christ before I did.
  • Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and fellow-captives, who are of note among the apostles; who were also in Christ before me.
  • Greet Ampliatus, my dear friend in the Lord.
  • Salute Amplias, my beloved in the Lord.
  • Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys.
  • Salute Urbanus, our fellow-workman in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved.
  • Greet Apelles, a good man whom Christ approves. And give my greetings to the believers from the household of Aristobulus.
  • Salute Apelles, approved in Christ. Salute those who belong to Aristobulus.
  • Greet Herodion, my fellow Jew.c Greet the Lord’s people from the household of Narcissus.
  • Salute Herodion, my kinsman. Salute those who belong to Narcissus, who are in [the] Lord.
  • Give my greetings to Tryphena and Tryphosa, the Lord’s workers, and to dear Persis, who has worked so hard for the Lord.
  • Salute Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labour in [the] Lord. Salute Persis, the beloved, who has laboured much in [the] Lord.
  • Greet Rufus, whom the Lord picked out to be his very own; and also his dear mother, who has been a mother to me.
  • Salute Rufus, chosen in [the] Lord; and his mother and mine.
  • Give my greetings to Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers and sistersd who meet with them.
  • Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brethren with them.
  • Give my greetings to Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and to Olympas and all the believerse who meet with them.
  • Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints with them.
  • Greet each other with a sacred kiss. All the churches of Christ send you their greetings.
  • Salute one another with a holy kiss. All the assemblies of Christ salute you.

  • Paul’s Final Instructions

And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.
  • Avoid Divisions

But I beseech you, brethren, to consider those who create divisions and occasions of falling, contrary to the doctrine which *ye* have learnt, and turn away from them.
  • Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.
  • For such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly, and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
  • But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong.
  • For your obedience has reached to all. I rejoice therefore as it regards you; but I wish you to be wise [as] to that which is good, and simple [as] to evil.
  • The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesusf be with you.
  • But the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.
  • Timothy, my fellow worker, sends you his greetings, as do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater, my fellow Jews.
  • Greetings from Paul's Companions

Timotheus, my fellow-workman, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.
  • I, Tertius, the one writing this letter for Paul, send my greetings, too, as one of the Lord’s followers.
  • I Tertius, who have written this epistle, salute you in [the] Lord.
  • Gaius says hello to you. He is my host and also serves as host to the whole church. Erastus, the city treasurer, sends you his greetings, and so does our brother Quartus.g
  • Gaius, my host and of the whole assembly, salutes you. Erastus, the steward of the city, salutes you, and the brother Quartus.
  • Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of time.
  • Doxology

Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my glad tidings and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to [the] revelation of [the] mystery, as to which silence has been kept in [the] times of the ages,
  • But now as the prophetsh foretold and as the eternal God has commanded, this message is made known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that they too might believe and obey him.
  • but [which] has now been made manifest, and by prophetic scriptures, according to commandment of the eternal God, made known for obedience of faith to all the nations --
  • All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen.i
  • [the] only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
