Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!

For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.

It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.

But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,

for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,
“Awake, O sleeper,
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”

Living by the Spirit’s Power
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.

Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
Дорожите временем, потому что в эти дни много зла.
Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
Не напивайтесь вином, это ведет к распутству.16 Но лучше исполняйтесь Духом.
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
Наставляйте друг друга псалмами, гимнами и духовными песнопениями. Пойте и прославляйте Господа в ваших сердцах.
And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Всегда и за все благодарите Бога Отца во имя нашего Господа Иисуса Христа.
Spirit-Guided Relationships: Wives and Husbands
And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Подчиняйтесь друг другу из страха перед Христом.
For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
Вы, жены, подчиняйтесь вашим мужьям, как Господу.
For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church.
Ведь муж — глава своей жене, как и Христос — Глава и Спаситель Церкви — Своего тела.
As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.
И как Церковь подчиняется Христу, так и жены должны во всем подчиняться своим мужьям.
For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her
А вы, мужья, любите ваших жен так, как Христос полюбил Свою Церковь. Он Самого Себя отдал за нее,
чтобы сделать ее святой, очистив ее водным омовением через слово,
He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
Точно так и мужья должны любить своих жен, любить, как свое собственное тело. Тот, кто любит свою жену, любит самого себя.
No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church.
Ведь нет такого человека, кто бы ненавидел свое тело, но каждый питает свое тело и заботится о нем. Так и Христос заботится о Церкви,
«Поэтому оставит человек отца и мать и соединится со своей женой, и двое станут одной плотью».17
This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.
В этих словах скрыта великая истина, и я говорю вам, что они относятся к взаимоотношениям Христа и Церкви.
