New Living Translation

King James Bible

  • Songs of Victory in Heaven

After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting,
    “Praise the LORD!a
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.
  • Rejoicing in Heaven

And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
  • His judgments are true and just.
He has punished the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth with her immorality.
He has avenged the murder of his servants.”
  • For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
  • And again their voices rang out:
    “Praise the LORD!
The smoke from that city ascends forever and ever!”
  • And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
  • Then the twenty-four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, “Amen! Praise the LORD!”
  • And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
  • And from the throne came a voice that said,
    “Praise our God,
    all his servants,
    all who fear him,
from the least to the greatest.”
  • And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
  • Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder:
    “Praise the LORD!
For the Lord our God,b the Almighty, reigns.
  • The Marriage of the Lamb

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
  • Let us be glad and rejoice,
and let us give honor to him.
For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb,
and his bride has prepared herself.
  • Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
  • She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.”
For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people.
  • And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
  • And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.”
  • And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
  • Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sistersc who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.d
  • And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

  • The Rider on the White Horse

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.
  • The Rider on the White Horse

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
  • His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself.
  • His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
  • He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.
  • And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
  • The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses.
  • And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
  • From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress.
  • And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
  • On his robe at his thighe was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
  • And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
  • Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: “Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared.
  • Defeat of the Beast and False Prophet

    And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
  • Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.”
  • That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
  • Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army.
  • And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
  • And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast — miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
  • And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
  • Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies.
  • And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
