The city officials did not know I had been out there or what I was doing, for I had not yet said anything to anyone about my plans. I had not yet spoken to the Jewish leaders — the priests, the nobles, the officials, or anyone else in the administration.

And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.

And the officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done; I had not yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials, or the others who did the work.

И начальствующие не знали, куда я ходил и что я делаю: ни Иудеям, ни священникам, ни знатнейшим, ни начальствующим, ни прочим производителям работ я дотоле ничего не открывал.

А старшини не знали, куди то я ходив і що я робив; ні юдеям, ні священикам, ні вельможам, ні старшинам, ні іншим, що робили цю роботу я до того часу нічого не повідав.

Начальствующие не знали, куда я ходил и что делал — ведь я еще не говорил ни иудеям, ни священникам, ни знати, ни начальствующим, ни всем остальным, кому суждено было предпринять этот труд.

А вартові не довідались, чому я ходив, і що я роблю, аж до того часу я не сповістив юдеям, священикам, визначним, вождям і решті, які виконували роботи.
