    Народ Израиля, слушайте слово Господа,
    потому что Господь осуждает вас,
    жители этой земли, говоря:
    — В этой стране нет ни верности, ни любви,
    ни познания Бога.

    God's Charges against Israel

    Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

    Есть лишь проклятие, ложь и убийство,
    воровство и разврат.
    Они переходят все границы,
    кровопролитие следует за кровопролитием.

    By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

    Поэтому эта земля высыхает,
    и все, кто живет в ней, изнемогают.
    Гибнут дикие звери, птицы небесные
    и рыбы морские.

    Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

    Но пусть никто не судится,
    пусть один не обвиняет другого;
    Я вас обвиняю, священники.20

    Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.

    Вы спотыкаетесь днем и ночью,
    и пророки спотыкаются вместе с вами.
    Итак, Я истреблю вашу мать.21

    Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.

    Мой народ истреблен из-за недостатка знания.
    Как вы отвергли знание,
    так и Я отвергну вас, Мои священники.
    Как вы забыли Закон вашего Бога,
    так и Я забуду ваших детей.

    My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

    Чем больше становилось священников,
    тем больше они грешили против Меня.
    Я поменяю их славу на нечто постыдное.

    As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

    Они питаются жертвами за грехи Моего народа,
    потому и желают их беззаконий.

    They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
  • 9

    Что будет с народом, то и со священниками.
    Я накажу их за пути их
    и воздам им по делам их.

    And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.

    Они будут есть, но не насытятся,
    будут блудить, но останутся бездетными,
    потому что они оставили Господа
    и предали себя

    For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.

    разврату,
    вину старому и молодому,
    которые отнимают понимание

    Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
  • 12

    у Моего народа.
    Они просят совета у деревяшки,
    и палка дает им ответ.
    Дух разврата сбил их с пути.
    Занимаясь развратом,
    они отдалились от своего Бога.

    My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.

    Они приносят жертвы на вершинах гор
    и сжигают приношения на холмах,
    под дубом, тополем и теревинфом,22
    потому что их тень приятна.
    Поэтому ваши дочери блудят,
    а ваши невестки нарушают супружескую верность.

    They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.

    Я не накажу ваших дочерей,
    когда они будут блудить,
    и не накажу ваших невесток,
    когда они будут нарушать супружескую верность,
    потому что мужчины сами уединяются с блудницами
    и приносят жертвы с блудницами храмовыми.23
    Невежественный народ погибнет!

    I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

    Хотя ты и блудишь, Израиль,
    пусть хоть Иуда не грешит.
    Не ходите в Гилгал,
    не поднимайтесь в Бет-Авен,24
    и не клянитесь там: «Верно, как и то, что жив Господь!»

    Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.

    Израильтяне упираются,
    как упрямая телица.
    Как же тогда Господь сможет пасти их,
    словно овец на просторном пастбище?

    For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.

    Ефрем привязался к идолам,
    оставь его!

  • 17
    Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
  • 18

    Даже когда у них кончается вино,
    они продолжают блудить.
    Их правители любят постыдные пути.

    Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.

    Сильный ветер сметет их,
    и они устыдятся своих жертв.

    The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
