And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

Как только Иисус вышел из лодки, навстречу Ему из гробниц выскочил человек, одержимый нечистым духом.
And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
Человек этот жил в гробницах, и никто не мог связать его даже цепями:
Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
его уже много раз сковывали по рукам и ногам, но он всегда разрывал цепи и разбивал кандалы на ногах. Никто не мог усмирить его.
Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
Днем и ночью он бродил среди могил и по горам и с диким криком бил себя камнями.
And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
потому что Иисус говорил ему: «Выйди, нечистый дух, из этого человека».
For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
Иисус спросил его:
— Как тебя зовут?
— Меня зовут Легион,17 — ответил тот, — потому что нас много.

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
И он настойчиво умолял Иисуса не выгонять их из тех мест.
And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
А там у горы в это время паслось большое стадо свиней,
Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
и нечистые духи попросили Иисуса:
— Позволь нам войти в этих свиней.
— Позволь нам войти в этих свиней.
And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
Иисус позволил, и нечистые духи, выйдя из человека, вошли в свиней. Все стадо, около двух тысяч голов, тут же ринулось с обрыва в озеро и утонуло в нем.
And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
А свинопасы побежали и рассказали о случившемся в городе и в окрестностях. Сбежался народ посмотреть, что произошло.
And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
Подойдя к Иисусу, они увидели, что бывший одержимый, в котором был легион демонов, сидит одетый и в здравом уме, и они испугались.
And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
Очевидцы же рассказали им, как все произошло с одержимым и со свиньями.
And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
Тогда местные жители стали просить Иисуса покинуть их края.
And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
Когда Иисус садился в лодку, то человек, который был одержим демонами, стал просить, чтобы Он взял его с Собой,
And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
Тот пошел и стал рассказывать в Десятиградии о том, что сделал для него Иисус. Его рассказ приводил всех в изумление.
And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

The Healing Touch of Jesus
And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
Там была женщина, двенадцать лет страдавшая кровотечением.
And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
Она натерпелась от многих врачей, истратила на лечение все, что у нее было, но не получила никакой помощи, напротив, ей становилось все хуже.
And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
Она слышала об Иисусе, и поэтому она подошла сзади к Нему сквозь толпу и прикоснулась к Его одежде.
When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
«Если я хоть к одежде Его прикоснусь, то исцелюсь», — говорила она себе.
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Ее кровотечение сразу же остановилось, и она почувствовала, что исцелена.
And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
А Иисус мгновенно почувствовал, что из Него вышла сила. Он обернулся в толпе и спросил:
— Кто прикоснулся к Моей одежде?

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
Ученики ответили Ему:
— Ты же видишь, что толпа теснит Тебя со всех сторон. Что же Ты спрашиваешь, кто к Тебе прикоснулся?

And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
Но Иисус обводил толпу взглядом, чтобы увидеть ту, которая это сделала.
And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
Женщина, дрожа от страха и зная, что с ней произошло, подошла, упала к Его ногам и рассказала всю правду.
But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Тогда Иисус сказал ей:
— Дочь Моя, твоя вера исцелила тебя! Иди с миром и будь здорова от своего недуга.

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

— Твоя дочь умерла, зачем еще беспокоить Учителя?

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
Но Иисус, не обращая внимания на их слова, сказал начальнику синагоги:
— Не бойся, только верь!

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
Он не позволил идти с Ним никому, кроме Петра, Иакова и Иоанна, брата Иакова.
And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
Когда они подошли к дому начальника, Он увидел смятение. Люди плакали и причитали.
And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
Иисус вошел в дом и спросил их:
— Почему вы так скорбите и плачете? Девочка не умерла, она спит.

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
Над Ним начали смеяться. Но Иисус велел всем выйти, а Сам с отцом и матерью девочки и своими спутниками вошел в комнату, где она лежала.
And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
Взяв ее за руку, Иисус сказал:
— Талита, кум!
(Что значит: «Девочка, говорю тебе: встань!»)
— Талита, кум!
(Что значит: «Девочка, говорю тебе: встань!»)
And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
Девочка сразу встала и начала ходить (ей было лет двенадцать). Все были сильно удивлены.
And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
