доколе будете мучить душу мою и терзать меня речами?
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
Вот, уже раз десять вы срамили меня и не стыдитесь теснить меня.
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
Если я и действительно погрешил, то погрешность моя при мне остаётся.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
Если же вы хотите повеличаться надо мною и упрекнуть меня позором моим,
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
то знайте, что Бог ниспроверг меня и обложил меня Своею сетью.
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
Вот, я кричу: «обида!», и никто не слушает; вопию, и нет суда.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
Он преградил мне дорогу, и не могу пройти, и на стези мои положил тьму.
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
Совлёк с меня славу мою и снял венец с головы моей.
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
Кругом разорил меня, и я отхожу; и, как дерево, Он исторг надежду мою.
He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
Воспылал на меня гневом Своим и считает меня между врагами Своими.
He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
Полки Его пришли вместе и направили путь свой ко мне и расположились вокруг шатра моего.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
Братьев моих Он удалил от меня, и знающие меня чуждаются меня.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
Покинули меня близкие мои, и знакомые мои забыли меня.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
Пришлые в доме моём, и служанки мои чужим считают меня; посторонним стал я в глазах их.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
Зову слугу моего, и он не откликается; устами моими я должен умолять его.
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
Дыхание моё опротивело жене моей, и я должен умолять её ради детей чрева моего.
My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.
Даже малые дети презирают меня: поднимаюсь, и они издеваются надо мною.
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.
Гнушаются мною все наперсники мои, и те, которых я любил, обратились против меня.
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
Кости мои прилипли к коже моей и плоти моей, и я остался только с кожею около зубов моих.
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
Помилуйте меня, помилуйте меня вы, друзья мои, ибо рука Божия коснулась меня.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
Зачем и вы преследуете меня, как Бог, и плотью моею не можете насытиться?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
О, если бы записаны были слова мои! Если бы начертаны были они в книге
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
резцом железным с оловом, — на вечное время на камне вырезаны были!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
А я знаю, Искупитель мой жив, и Он в последний день восставит из праха распадающуюся кожу мою сию,
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
и я во плоти моей узрю Бога.
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Я узрю Его сам; мои глаза, не глаза другого, увидят Его. Истаевает сердце моё в груди моей!
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
Вам надлежало бы сказать: «зачем мы преследуем его?» Как будто корень зла найден во мне.
But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
