Но Моисей сказал: нельзя сего сделать, ибо отвратительно для Египтян жертвоприношение наше Господу, Богу нашему: если мы отвратительную для Египтян жертву станем приносить в глазах их, то не побьют ли они нас камнями?

Но Моисей ответил: "Мы не можем этого сделать. Египтяне считают, что приносить жертвы Господу, Богу нашему, отвратительно, и если мы это сделаем здесь, то они, увидев, забьют нас камнями. -
Но Моисей сказал:
— Так делать нельзя. То, что мы приносим в жертву Господу, нашему Богу, для египтян — мерзость. Если мы станем приносить жертву, которой они гнушаются, они забьют нас камнями. -
Вийшов Мойсей від фараона й помолився Господеві.

And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?

But Moses said, “That would not be right. The sacrifices we offer the Lord our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. And if we offer sacrifices that are detestable in their eyes, will they not stone us? -

But Moses said, “It would not be right to do so, for the offerings we shall sacrifice to the Lord our God are an abomination to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice offerings abominable to the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not stone us? -

І каже Мойсей: Не подоба сьому так статись, гидко бо Египтянам, коли б ми ту принесли жертву Господеві, Богу нашому. Нї! Коли б ми приносили жертву гидку Египтянам перед очима в їх, вони побили б нас каміннєм. -
І вийшов Мойсей від фараона, і став просити Господа.

But Moses replied, “That wouldn’t be right. The Egyptians detest the sacrifices that we offer to the LORD our God. Look, if we offer our sacrifices here where the Egyptians can see us, they will stone us.
