Вот, восходит он, как лев, от возвышения Иордана на укреплённые жилища; но Я заставлю их поспешно уйти из него, и, кто избран, тому вверю его. Ибо кто подобен Мне? и кто потребует от Меня ответа? И какой пастырь противостанет Мне?

Господь говорит: "Порою выходит лев из кустов на берегах Иордана и идёт на пастбища, где люди пасут стада. Все стада разбегутся, Я буду, как лев, Я буду преследовать Вавилон. Кого могу назначить Я, кого могу Я выбрать, чтобы над ними правил? Нет подобного Мне. Нет никого, кто может Мне противостоять. Нет пастуха, кто может прогнать Меня. Я буду преследовать Вавилон". -
— Словно лев, который выходит
из иорданской чащи
на роскошные пастбища,
Я во мгновение ока
изгоню жителей Вавилона из их земель
и поставлю над ними того, кого изберу.
Кто подобен Мне? Кто спросит с Меня?
Какой правитель может противостоять Мне? -
Ось він, немов той лев, виходить із чагарів йорданських на зелені луки. Але вмить я прожену його звідти і поставлю там мого вибранця. Бо хто мені рівня? Хто мене на суд покличе? Та й де той пастир, що встоявся б проти мене?

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

Ось підіймається він, немов лев, із темного лісу Йорда́ну на во́дяні луки, і Я вмент зроблю́, що він побіжить геть від них, а хто ви́браний буде, того Я поставлю над ними! Бо хто є подібний Мені, і хто покличе Мене перед суд, і хто па́стир такий, що перед обличчям Моїм він усто́їть?
