Господь определил разрушить стену дщери Сиона, протянул вервь, не отклонил руки Своей от разорения; истребил внешние укрепления, и стены вместе разрушены.

Господь задумал разрушить стену вокруг дочери Сиона. Стену Он линией отмерил. И не отвёл руки Своей от разорения. Все укрепления и стены заставил Он от горя плакать, и вместе рухнули они. -
Господь решил разрушить
стену дочери Сиона;
Он протянул вервь5
и не удержал Своей руки от разорения.
Рыдали и стены и внешние укрепления,
изнывая вместе. -
Господь намислив розвалити мур дочки Сіону; простягнув мотузку, руки не стримав, щоб не руйнувати; засмутив мур і передмур'я, і вони разом тужать.

The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together. -

The LORD was determined
to destroy the walls of beautiful Jerusalem.
He made careful plans for their destruction,
then did what he had planned.
Therefore, the ramparts and walls
have fallen down before him. -
