Hosea 12

    Ефрем пасёт ветер и гоняется за восточным ветром, каждый день умножает ложь и разорение; заключают они союз с Ассуром, и в Египет отвозится елей.

    aThe people of Israelb feed on the wind;
    they chase after the east wind all day long.
    They pile up lies and violence;
    they are making an alliance with Assyria
    while sending olive oil to buy support from Egypt.

    Но и с Иудою у Господа суд, и Он посетит Иакова по путям его, воздаст ему по делам его.
  • 2
    Now the LORD is bringing charges against Judah.
    He is about to punish Jacobc for all his deceitful ways,
    and pay him back for all he has done.

    Ещё во чреве матери запинал он брата своего, а возмужав — боролся с Богом.

    Even in the womb,
    Jacob struggled with his brother;
    when he became a man,
    he even fought with God.

    Он боролся с Ангелом — и превозмог; плакал и умолял Его; в Вефиле Он нашёл нас и там говорил с нами.

    Yes, he wrestled with the angel and won.
    He wept and pleaded for a blessing from him.
    There at Bethel he met God face to face,
    and God spoke to himd —

    А Господь есть Бог Саваоф; Сущий — имя Его.

    the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies,
    the LORD is his name!

    Обратись и ты к Богу твоему; наблюдай милость и суд и уповай на Бога твоего всегда.

    So now, come back to your God.
    Act with love and justice,
    and always depend on him.

    Хананеянин с неверными весами в руке любит обижать;

    But no, the people are like crafty merchants
    selling from dishonest scales —
    they love to cheat.
  • 8
    и Ефрем говорит: «однако я разбогател; накопил себе имущества, хотя во всех моих трудах не найдут ничего незаконного, что было бы грехом».

    Israel boasts, “I am rich!
    I’ve made a fortune all by myself!
    No one has caught me cheating!
    My record is spotless!”

    А Я, Господь Бог твой от самой земли Египетской, опять поселю тебя в кущах, как во дни праздника.

    “But I am the LORD your God,
    who rescued you from slavery in Egypt.
    And I will make you live in tents again,
    as you do each year at the Festival of Shelters.e
  • 10
    Я говорил к пророкам, и умножал видения, и через пророков употреблял притчи.

    I sent my prophets to warn you
    with many visions and parables.”
  • 11
    Если Галаад сделался Авеном, то они стали суетны, в Галгалах заколали в жертву тельцов, и жертвенники их стояли как груды камней на межах поля.

    But the people of Gilead are worthless
    because of their idol worship.
    And in Gilgal, too, they sacrifice bulls;
    their altars are lined up like the heaps of stone
    along the edges of a plowed field.

    Убежал Иаков на поля Сирийские, и служил Израиль за жену, и за жену стерёг овец.
  • 12
    Jacob fled to the land of Aram,
    and there hef earned a wife by tending sheep.
  • 13
    Через пророка вывел Господь Израиля из Египта, и через пророка Он охранял его.

    Then by a prophet
    the LORD brought Jacob’s descendantsg out of Egypt;
    and by that prophet
    they were protected.
  • 14
    Сильно раздражил Ефрем Господа, и за то кровь его оставит на нём, и поношение его обратит Господь на него.

    But the people of Israel
    have bitterly provoked the LORD,
    so their Lord will now sentence them to death
    in payment for their sins.
