    В то время Ирод четвертовластник услышал молву об Иисусе

    The Death of John the Baptist

    At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus,
  • 2
    и сказал служащим при нём: это Иоанн Креститель; он воскрес из мёртвых, и потому чудеса делаются им.
  • 2
    and he said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why these miraculous powers are at work in him.”

    Ибо Ирод, взяв Иоанна, связал его и посадил в темницу за Иродиаду, жену Филиппа, брата своего,
  • 3
    For Herod had seized John and bound him and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,a
  • 4
    потому что Иоанн говорил ему: не должно тебе иметь её.
  • 4
    because John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
  • 5
    И хотел убить его, но боялся народа, потому что его почитали за пророка.
  • 5
    And though he wanted to put him to death, he feared the people, because they held him to be a prophet.
  • 6
    Во время же празднования дня рождения Ирода дочь Иродиады плясала перед собранием и угодила Ироду,

    But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced before the company and pleased Herod,
  • 7
    посему он с клятвою обещал ей дать, чего она ни попросит.
  • 7
    so that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.
  • 8
    Она же, по наущению матери своей, сказала: дай мне здесь на блюде голову Иоанна Крестителя.

    Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”
  • 9
    И опечалился царь, но, ради клятвы и возлежащих с ним, повелел дать ей,

    And the king was sorry, but because of his oaths and his guests he commanded it to be given.
  • 10
    и послал отсечь Иоанну голову в темнице.
  • 10
    He sent and had John beheaded in the prison,
  • 11
    И принесли голову его на блюде и дали девице, а она отнесла матери своей.
  • 11
    and his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.
  • 12
    Ученики же его, придя, взяли тело его и погребли его; и пошли, возвестили Иисусу.
  • 12
    And his disciples came and took the body and buried it, and they went and told Jesus.
  • 13
    И, услышав, Иисус удалился оттуда на лодке в пустынное место один; а народ, услышав о том, пошёл за Ним из городов пешком.

    Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

    Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns.

    И, выйдя, Иисус увидел множество людей и сжалился над ними, и исцелил больных их.

    When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
  • 15
    Когда же настал вечер, приступили к Нему ученики Его и сказали: место здесь пустынное, и время уже позднее; отпусти народ, чтобы они пошли в селения и купили себе пищи.

    Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

    Но Иисус сказал им: не нужно им идти, вы дайте им есть.
  • 16
    But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.”
  • 17
    Они же говорят Ему: у нас здесь только пять хлебов и две рыбы.
  • 17
    They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.”
  • 18
    Он сказал: принесите их Мне сюда.
  • 18
    And he said, “Bring them here to me.”
  • 19
    И велел народу возлечь на траву и, взяв пять хлебов и две рыбы, воззрел на небо, благословил и, преломив, дал хлебы ученикам, а ученики — народу.

    Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.

    И ели все, и насытились; и набрали оставшихся кусков двенадцать коробов полных;
  • 20
    And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over.

    а евших было около пяти тысяч человек, кроме женщин и детей.
  • 21
    And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
  • 22
    И тотчас понудил Иисус учеников Своих войти в лодку и отправиться прежде Его на другую сторону, пока Он отпустит народ.

    Jesus Walks on the Water

    Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.

    И, отпустив народ, Он взошёл на гору помолиться наедине; и вечером оставался там один.
  • 23
    And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,
  • 24
    А лодка была уже на середине моря, и её било волнами, потому что ветер был противный.
  • 24
    but the boat by this time was a long wayb from the land,c beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them.
  • 25
    В четвёртую же стражу ночи пошёл к ним Иисус, идя по морю.
  • 25
    And in the fourth watch of the nightd he came to them, walking on the sea.
  • 26
    И ученики, увидев Его, идущего по морю, встревожились и говорили: это призрак; и от страха вскричали.
  • 26
    But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear.
  • 27
    Но Иисус тотчас заговорил с ними и сказал: ободритесь; это Я, не бойтесь.
  • 27
    But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”
  • 28
    Пётр сказал Ему в ответ: Господи! если это Ты, повели мне прийти к Тебе по воде.

    And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
  • 29
    Он же сказал: иди. И, выйдя из лодки, Пётр пошёл по воде, чтобы подойти к Иисусу,
  • 29
    He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.
  • 30
    но, видя сильный ветер, испугался и, начав утопать, закричал: Господи! спаси меня.
  • 30
    But when he saw the wind,e he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”
  • 31
    Иисус тотчас простёр руку, поддержал его и говорит ему: маловерный! зачем ты усомнился?

    Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
  • 32
    И, когда вошли они в лодку, ветер утих.
  • 32
    And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
  • 33
    Бывшие же в лодке подошли, поклонились Ему и сказали: истинно Ты Сын Божий.

    And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
  • 34
    И, переправившись, прибыли в землю Геннисаретскую.

    Jesus Heals the Sick in Gennesaret

    And when they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret.

    Жители того места, узнав Его, послали во всю окрестность ту и принесли к Нему всех больных,

    And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick
  • 36
    и просили Его, чтобы только прикоснуться к краю одежды Его; и которые прикасались, исцелялись.

    and implored him that they might only touch the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.
