Нет ничего сокровенного, что не открылось бы, и тайного, чего не узнали бы.
but there is nothing covered up which shall not be revealed, nor secret that shall not be known;
Посему, что вы сказали в темноте, то услышится во свете; и что говорили на ухо внутри дома, то будет провозглашено на кровлях.
therefore whatever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light, and what ye have spoken in the ear in chambers shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
Говорю же вам, друзьям Моим: не бойтесь убивающих тело и потом не могущих ничего более сделать;
Fearing God Alone
But I say to you, my friends, Fear not those who kill the body and after this have no more that they can do.

но скажу вам, кого бояться: бойтесь того, кто, по убиении, может ввергнуть в геенну: ей, говорю вам, того бойтесь.
But I will shew you whom ye shall fear: Fear him who after he has killed has authority to cast into hell; yea, I say to you, Fear *him*.
Не пять ли малых птиц продаются за два ассария? и ни одна из них не забыта у Бога.
Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria? and one of them is not forgotten before God.
А у вас и волосы на голове все сочтены. Итак, не бойтесь: вы дороже многих малых птиц.
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore, ye are better than many sparrows.
Сказываю же вам: всякого, кто исповедает Меня пред человеками, и Сын Человеческий исповедает пред Ангелами Божиими;
Confessing Christ
But I say to you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, the Son of man will confess him also before the angels of God;

а кто отвергнется Меня пред человеками, тот отвержен будет пред Ангелами Божиими.
but he that shall have denied me before men shall be denied before the angels of God;
И всякому, кто скажет слово на Сына Человеческого, прощено будет; а кто скажет хулу на Святого Духа, тому не простится.
and whoever shall say a word against the Son of man it shall be forgiven him; but to him that speaks injuriously against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven.
Когда же приведут вас в синагоги, к начальствам и властям, не заботьтесь, как или что отвечать, или что говорить,
But when they bring you before the synagogues and rulers and the authorities, be not careful how or what ye shall answer, or what ye shall say;
ибо Святой Дух научит вас в тот час, что должно говорить.
for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the hour itself what should be said.
Некто из народа сказал Ему: Учитель! скажи брату моему, чтобы он разделил со мною наследство.
The Parable of the Rich Fool
And a person said to him out of the crowd, Teacher, speak to my brother to divide the inheritance with me.

Он же сказал человеку тому: кто поставил Меня судить или делить вас?
But he said to him, Man, who established me [as] a judge or a divider over you?
При этом сказал им: смотрите, берегитесь любостяжания, ибо жизнь человека не зависит от изобилия его имения.
And he said to them, Take heed and keep yourselves from all covetousness, for [it is] not because a man is in abundance [that] his life is in his possessions.
И сказал им притчу: у одного богатого человека был хороший урожай в поле;
And he spoke a parable to them, saying, The land of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly.
и он рассуждал сам с собою: «что мне делать? некуда мне собрать плодов моих».
And he reasoned within himself saying, What shall I do? for I have not [a place] where I shall lay up my fruits.
И сказал: «вот что сделаю: сломаю житницы мои и построю большие, и соберу туда весь хлеб мой и всё добро моё,
And he said, This will I do: I will take away my granaries and build greater, and there I will lay up all my produce and my good things;
и скажу душе моей: душа! много добра лежит у тебя на многие годы: покойся, ешь, пей, веселись».
and I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much good things laid by for many years; repose thyself, eat, drink, be merry.
Но Бог сказал ему: «безумный! в сию ночь душу твою возьмут у тебя; кому же достанется то, что ты заготовил?»
But God said to him, Fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; and whose shall be what thou hast prepared?
Так бывает с тем, кто собирает сокровища для себя, а не в Бога богатеет.
Thus is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
И сказал ученикам Своим: посему говорю вам, — не заботьтесь для души вашей, что вам есть, ни для тела, во что одеться:
Do Not Worry
And he said to his disciples, For this cause I say unto you, Be not careful for life, what ye shall eat, nor for the body, what ye shall put on.

Посмотрите на воронов: они не сеют, не жнут; нет у них ни хранилищ, ни житниц, и Бог питает их; сколько же вы лучше птиц?
Consider the ravens, that they sow not nor reap; which have neither storehouse nor granary; and God feeds them. How much better are *ye* than the birds?
Да и кто из вас, заботясь, может прибавить себе роста хотя на один локоть?
But which of you by being careful can add to his stature one cubit?
Итак, если и малейшего сделать не можете, что заботитесь о прочем?
If therefore ye cannot [do] even what is least, why are ye careful about the rest?
Посмотрите на лилии, как они растут: не трудятся, не прядут; но говорю вам, что и Соломон во всей славе своей не одевался так, как всякая из них.
Consider the lilies how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I say unto you, Not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as one of these.
Если же траву на поле, которая сегодня есть, а завтра будет брошена в печь, Бог так одевает, то кольми паче вас, маловеры!
But if God thus clothe the grass, which to-day is in the field and to-morrow is cast into [the] oven, how much rather you, O ye of little faith?
Итак, не ищите, что вам есть, или что пить, и не беспокойтесь,
And *ye*, seek not what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, and be not in anxiety;
потому что всего этого ищут люди мира сего; ваш же Отец знает, что вы имеете нужду в том;
for all these things do the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that ye have need of these things;
наипаче ищите Царствия Божия, и это всё приложится вам.
but seek his kingdom, and [all] these things shall be added to you.
Не бойся, малое стадо! ибо Отец ваш благоволил дать вам Царство.
Fear not, little flock, for it has been the good pleasure of your Father to give you the kingdom.
Продавайте имения ваши и давайте милостыню. Приготовляйте себе вместилища неветшающие, сокровище неоскудевающее на небесах, куда вор не приближается и где моль не съедает,
Sell what ye possess and give alms; make to yourselves purses which do not grow old, a treasure which does not fail in the heavens, where thief does not draw near nor moth destroy.
ибо где сокровище ваше, там и сердце ваше будет.
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.
Да будут чресла ваши препоясаны и светильники горящи.
Be Ready for Service
Let your loins be girded about, and lamps burning;
Let your loins be girded about, and lamps burning;
И вы будьте подобны людям, ожидающим возвращения господина своего с брака, дабы, когда придёт и постучит, тотчас отворить ему.
and *ye* like men who wait their own lord whenever he may leave the wedding, that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately.
Блаженны рабы те, которых господин, придя, найдёт бодрствующими; истинно говорю вам, он препояшется и посадит их, и, подходя, станет служить им.
Blessed are those bondmen whom the lord [on] coming shall find watching; verily I say unto you, that he will gird himself and make them recline at table, and coming up will serve them.
И если придёт во вторую стражу, и в третью стражу придёт, и найдёт их так, то блаженны рабы те.
And if he come in the second watch, and come in the third watch, and find [them] thus, blessed are those [bondmen].
Вы знаете, что если бы ведал хозяин дома, в который час придёт вор, то бодрствовал бы и не допустил бы подкопать дом свой.
But this know, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be dug through.
Будьте же и вы готовы, ибо, в который час не думаете, приидет Сын Человеческий.
And ye therefore, be *ye* ready, for in the hour in which ye do not think [it], the Son of man comes.
Тогда сказал Ему Пётр: Господи! к нам ли притчу сию говоришь, или и ко всем?
And Peter said to him, Lord, sayest thou this parable to us, or also to all?
Господь же сказал: кто верный и благоразумный домоправитель, которого господин поставил над слугами своими раздавать им в своё время меру хлеба?
And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and prudent steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give the measure of corn in season?
Блажен раб тот, которого господин его, придя, найдёт поступающим так.
Blessed is that bondman whom his lord [on] coming shall find doing thus;
Истинно говорю вам, что над всем имением своим поставит его.
verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he has.
Если же раб тот скажет в сердце своём: не скоро придёт господин мой, и начнёт бить слуг и служанок, есть и пить и напиваться, —
But if that bondman should say in his heart, My lord delays to come, and begin to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and to drink and to be drunken,
то придёт господин раба того в день, в который он не ожидает, и в час, в который не думает, и рассечёт его, и подвергнет его одной участи с неверными.
the lord of that bondman shall come in a day when he does not expect it, and in an hour he knows not of, and shall cut him in two and appoint his portion with the unbelievers.
Раб же тот, который знал волю господина своего, и не был готов, и не делал по воле его, бит будет много;
But that bondman who knew his own lord's will, and had not prepared [himself] nor done his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes];
а который не знал, и сделал достойное наказания, бит будет меньше. И от всякого, кому дано много, много и потребуется, и кому много вверено, с того больше взыщут.
but he who knew [it] not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. And to every one to whom much has been given, much shall be required from him; and to whom [men] have committed much, they will ask from him the more.
Огонь пришёл Я низвести на землю, и как желал бы, чтобы он уже возгорелся!
Not Peace, But Division
I have come to cast a fire on the earth; and what will I if already it has been kindled?

Крещением должен Я креститься; и как Я томлюсь, пока сие совершится!
But I have a baptism to be baptised with, and how am I straitened until it shall have been accomplished!
Думаете ли вы, что Я пришёл дать мир земле? Нет, говорю вам, но разделение;
Think ye that I have come to give peace in the earth? Nay, I say to you, but rather division:
ибо отныне пятеро в одном доме станут разделяться, трое против двух, и двое против трёх:
for from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided; three shall be divided against two, and two against three:
отец будет против сына, и сын против отца; мать против дочери, и дочь против матери; свекровь против невестки своей, и невестка против свекрови своей.
father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against mother; a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Сказал же и народу: когда вы видите облако, поднимающееся с запада, тотчас говорите: «дождь будет», и бывает так;
Interpreting the Present Time
And he said also to the crowds, When ye see a cloud rising out of the west, straightway ye say, A shower is coming; and so it happens.

и когда дует южный ветер, говорите: «зной будет», и бывает.
And when [ye see] the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it happens.
Лицемеры! лицо земли и неба распознавать умеете, как же времени сего не узнаете?
Hypocrites, ye know how to judge of the appearance of the earth and of the heaven; how [is it then that] ye do not discern this time?
Зачем же вы и по самим себе не судите, чему быть должно?
Reconciling with Your Adversary
And why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

Когда ты идёшь с соперником своим к начальству, то на дороге постарайся освободиться от него, чтобы он не привёл тебя к судье, а судья не отдал тебя истязателю, а истязатель не вверг тебя в темницу.
For as thou goest with thine adverse party before a magistrate, strive in the way to be reconciled with him, lest he drag thee away to the judge, and the judge shall deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
