И сказал Саул: так скажите Давиду: царь не хочет вена, кроме ста краеобрезаний Филистимских, в отмщение врагам царя. Ибо Саул имел в мыслях погубить Давида руками Филистимлян.

— Скажите Давиду: «Царь не хочет за невесту иной цены, кроме ста филистимских краеобрезаний, чтобы отомстить своим врагам».
Саул же замышлял погубить Давида руками филистимлян. -
Тоді Саул сказав: «Скажіть Давидові: Цар не бажає весільного гостинця, а тільки сто обрізних шкірок філістимлянських, щоб помститись над царськими ворогами.» Саул же продумував, як би його зробити так, щоб Давид потрапив у руки філістимлянам.

And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.
