Nations Descended from Noah

Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.

The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, [a]Riphath, and Togarmah.

Сыновьями Иавана были Елиса, Фарсис, Киттим и Доданим.

The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and [b]Dodanim.

From these the coastland peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.

The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

У Хуша был также сын по имени Нимрод, который стал весьма силён.

Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.

Он был великим охотником перед Господом, потому и сравнивают с ним людей, говоря: "Он — словно Нимрод, великий охотник перед Господом".

He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.”

В царство Нимрода вначале входили Вавилон, Эрех, Аккад и Халме в стране Сеннаар.

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Нимрод пришёл также и в Ассирию и построил там города Ниневию, Реховофир, Калах

From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,

и Ресен, большой город между Ниневией и Калахом.

and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).

От Мицраима произошли Лудим, Анамим, Легавим, Нафтухим,

Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

Патрусим и Каслухим, откуда вышли филистимляне и Кафторим.

Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines and Caphtorim).

От Ханаана произошли Сидон, первенец его, а также Хет,

Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and Heth;

Иевусей, Аморрей, Гергесей,

the Jebusite, the Amorite, and the Girgashite;

Евей, Аркей, Синей,

the Hivite, the Arkite, and the Sinite;

Арвадей, Цимарей и Химафей. Семьи из рода Ханаана рассеялись по всей земле.

the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were dispersed.

Страна хананеев простиралась от Сидона на севере до Герара на юге, от Газы на западе до Содома и Гоморры на востоке, от Адмы и Цевоима до Лаши.

And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; then as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

Всё это были потомки Хама. Каждая семья говорила на своём наречии, у каждой семьи были свои земли, и они стали разными народами.

These were the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands and in their nations.

21

Сим был старшим братом Иафета. Одним из его потомков был Евер, родоначальник евреев.

And children were born also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, [d]the brother of Japheth the elder.

Сыновьями Сима были Елам, Ассур, Арфаксад, Луд и Арам.

The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.

23

Сыновьями Арама были Уц, Хул, Гефер и Маш.

The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and [e]Mash.

Арфаксад был отцом Салы, Сала был отцом Евера.

[f]Arphaxad begot Salah, and Salah begot Eber.

У Евера родились два сына. Одного звали Фалек, потому что при его жизни земля была разделена, имя же брата его было Иоктан.

To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was [g]Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

У Иоктана родились Алмодад, Шалеф, Хацармавеф, Иерах,

Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

27

Гадорам, Узал, Дикла,

Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

28

Овал, Авимаил, Шева,

[h]Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

29

Офир, Хавила и Иовав. Все они были сыновьями Иоктана

Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

30

и жили на землях между Мешей и горами на востоке. Меша же примыкала к стране Сефар.

And their dwelling place was from Mesha as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.

Таковы потомки Сима по их семьям, наречиям, странам и народам.

These were the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands, according to their nations.

Вот родословная семей сыновей Ноя по их народам. От них произошли все народы, расселившиеся по земле после потопа.

These were the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, in their nations; and from these the nations were divided on the earth after the flood.
