Woes to Scribes and Pharisees
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Он сказал: "Законоучителям и фарисеям дано право толковать закон Моисеев.
Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Так исполняйте же всё, что они велят вам, но не поступайте, как они поступают. Я говорю так, потому что они только говорят, но не делают.
All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Они устанавливают строгие правила, которым трудно следовать, взваливают их на плечи людям и пытаются заставить людей следовать им. Сами же не хотят и пальцем шевельнуть.
For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
Они совершают все добрые поступки только напоказ, увеличивая размеры своих филактерий и удлиняя бахрому на своей одежде.
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
Они любят занимать самые почётные места на пиршествах и в синагоге.
And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
Им нравится, когда их с почтением приветствуют на рыночной площади, они любят, чтобы их называли учителями.
And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
Но вы не позволяйте называть себя учителями, ибо есть только один истинный Учитель, а все вы лишь братья.
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
И пусть никого из вас не называют отцом, ибо один у вас Отец, Который на небесах.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
И не позволяйте людям называть вас господином, ибо один у вас Наставник-Христос.
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
Пусть самый великий среди вас будет вам слугою.
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
Кто возвышает себя, тот унижен будет, а кто унижает себя, тот возвышен будет.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Горе вам, учители закона и фарисеи, лицемеры! Вы закрыли людям дверь в Царство Небесное. Сами вы не входите в Царство Небесное и другим не даете войти туда.
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Горе вам, учители закона и фарисеи, лицемеры, ибо пожираете дома вдовьи и лицемерно молитесь подолгу, а потому примете ещё худшее осуждение.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
Горе вам, учители закона и фарисеи, лицемеры, ибо вы готовы пересечь море и сушу, чтобы заполучить к себе хоть одного приверженца, и когда находите такого, то превращаете его в ещё худшее исчадие ада, чем вы сами.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Горе вам, поводыри слепые, говорящие: "Если кто поклянётся храмом, то это ничего не значит, но если он поклянётся золотом храмовым, то должен исполнить обещанное!"
Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
Слепые глупцы! Что важнее, золото или храм, освятивший это золото?
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
И ещё: "Если кто поклянётся алтарём, то это неважно, но тот, кто поклялся алтарным приношением, должен исполнить обещанное!"
And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
Слепые глупцы! Что же важнее, приношение или алтарь, освятивший это приношение?
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
Итак, тот, кто клянётся алтарём, клянётся и тем, что на него возложено.
Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
И тот, кто клянётся храмом, клянётся и храмом и Живущим в нём.
And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
И тот, кто клянётся небом, клянётся и престолом Божьим, и Сидящим на нём.
And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
Горе вам, учители закона и фарисеи, лицемеры! Ибо отдаёте десятую часть урожая аниса, мяты и тмина Богу, но пренебрегаете более важными учениями закона: справедливостью, милосердием и верой. Но именно это следует исполнять, не пренебрегая и тем.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
О, поводыри слепые, вы убираете из чаши с питьём комара, а затем проглатываете верблюда.
Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
Горе вам, учители закона и фарисеи, лицемеры! Ибо очищаете вы чашу и блюдо снаружи, внутри же они полны плодов хищения и самоублажения!
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
О, фарисеи слепые, сперва очистите чашу и блюдо изнутри, чтобы и внутри и снаружи они стали чистыми.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Горе вам, законоучители и фарисеи, лицемеры! Ибо вы подобны побелённым гробницам, которые кажутся красивыми снаружи, внутри же полны костей мертвецов и скверны всякой.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
И сами вы тоже, хотя и кажетесь внешне благочестивыми, внутри полны лицемерия и беззакония.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Горе вам, учители закона и фарисеи, лицемеры! Ибо вы строите гробницы пророкам и украшаете памятники благочестивым,
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
говоря: "Если бы мы жили во времена наших предков, то не были бы их сообщниками в пролитии крови пророков".
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Таким образом вы сами против себя свидетельствуете, что вы сыновья тех, кто умертвил пророков.
Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Отродья змеиные, как избегнете вы осуждения на ад?
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
И потому Я посылаю к вам пророков, мудрецов и учителей закона; некоторых из них вы убьёте и распнёте, других будете бить в ваших синагогах и преследовать из города в город.
Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Пусть же падёт на вас вина за всю праведную кровь, пролитую на земле, от крови праведника Авеля до крови Захарии, сына Варахиина, которого вы умертвили между храмом и алтарём.
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
Истинно говорю: всё это исполнится ещё в этом поколении.
Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
О, Иерусалим, Иерусалим, пророков умертвляющий и забивающий камнями посланных к тебе! Сколько раз хотелось Мне собрать твоих детей всех вместе, подобно тому как курица собирает цыплят под своё крыло, вы же не хотели!
Lament over Jerusalem
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
