And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
Услышав об Иисусе, он послал к Нему иудейских старейшин с просьбой прийти и спасти его слугу.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
Они пришли к Иисусу и стали умолять Его, говоря: "Этот центурион достоин Твоей помощи.
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
Он любит наш народ и даже построил для нас синагогу".
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
Иисус пошёл с ними, но когда Он был уже недалеко от дома, центурион послал друзей передать Ему: "Не утруждай Себя, Господи! Не достоин я, чтобы Ты вошёл под мой кров,
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
потому я и сам не счёл себя достойным прийти к Тебе. Но стоит только Тебе приказать, и мой слуга будет исцелён.
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Я подвластный человек, и в моём подчинении находятся солдаты. Я говорю одному: "Иди!", и он идёт, другому: "Приди!", и он приходит, говорю слуге: "Сделай это!", и он делает".
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Иисус услышал и поразился и, повернувшись к толпе, шедшей за Ним, сказал: "Говорю вам, что не встречал Я такой веры даже в Израиле".
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Вернувшись домой, посыльные нашли слугу исцелённым.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

Jesus Raises a Widow's Son
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
Увидев её, Господь исполнился жалости к ней и сказал: "Не плачь".
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Он подошёл и дотронулся до гроба. Люди, которые несли гроб, остановились. И Иисус сказал: "Юноша, тебе говорю, встань!"
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
И мёртвый сел и стал говорить. Так Иисус вернул юношу его матери.
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
Всех охватил страх, и славили все Бога, говоря: "Великий пророк появился среди нас". И ещё: "Бог посетил Свой народ".
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
Весть об Иисусе распространилась по всей Иудее и окрестным местам.
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
Ученики Иоанна рассказали ему обо всём.
John's Inquiry
And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
В то время Иисус исцелил многих людей от болезней, недугов, нечистых духов и многим слепым даровал зрение.
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
И Он ответил им: "Идите и расскажите Иоанну о том, что видели и слышали: слепые прозревают, хромые начинают ходить, прокажённые очищаются, к глухим возвращается слух, мёртвые воскресают, нищие благовествуют.
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
Когда же посыльные Иоанна ушли, Иисус стал говорить народу об Иоанне: "На что ходили смотреть в пустыне? На тростник, ветром раскачиваемый?
Jesus Testifies about John
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

На что же вы ходили смотреть? На человека, одетого в роскошные одежды? Но люди, одевающиеся в роскошные одежды и живущие в роскоши, обитают в царских дворцах.
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
На что же ходили вы смотреть? На пророка? Да, и я говорю вам, Иоанн выше, чем пророк.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
Это тот, о котором сказано: "Посылаю Я перед Тобой ангела Своего, и он подготовит путь Тебе".
This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Вам говорю Я, что среди всех, когда-либо родившихся, нет человека более великого, чем Иоанн, но самый малый в Царстве Божьем выше его".
For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
И весь народ, слушавший Иисуса, даже сборщики налогов, признали правду Божью, приняв Иоанново крещение.
And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
Но фарисеи и законоучители отвергли волю Божью о себе, отказавшись креститься у Иоанна.
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
"С кем мне сравнить людей этого поколения? Кому подобны они?
And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
Они подобны детям, сидящим на рыночной площади и говорящим друг другу: "Мы играли для вас на свирели, но вы не плясали. Мы пели печальную песню, но вы не печалились".
They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
Пришёл Иоанн Креститель. Он не ест хлеба, не пьёт вина, и вы говорите: "В нём сидит бес".
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
Пришёл Сын Человеческий. Он ест и пьёт, как другие люди, и вы говорите: "Посмотрите на Этого Человека! Он слишком много ест и вина слишком много пьёт, он друг сборщиков налогов и грешников".
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Один фарисей пригласил Иисуса поесть с ним. Иисус вошёл в дом фарисея и занял место за столом.
A Sinful Woman Anoints Jesus
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

В то время в городе жила одна грешница. Узнав, что Иисус ест в доме фарисея, она принесла алебастровый сосуд с драгоценным благовонием.
And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
Стоя позади у ног Его и плача, она обливала Его ноги слезами и вытирала их своими волосами, целовала Его ноги и мазала их благовонием.
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
Видя это, фарисей, пригласивший Иисуса, сказал про себя: "Если бы Этот Человек был пророком, Он бы знал, что женщина, прикасающаяся к Нему, — грешница".
Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
Иисус сказал ему: "Симон, Я хочу сказать тебе кое-что". Симон ответил: "Скажи, Учитель".
The Parable of the Two Debtors
And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
И Иисус сказал: "У ростовщика было два должника, один должен был ему пятьсот серебряных монет, а другой пятьдесят.
There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
Но так как им было нечем заплатить, то он простил им долг. Который из двоих будет больше любить ростовщика?"
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
Симон ответил: "Я думаю тот, которому он простил больше денег". "Ты рассудил правильно, — сказал Иисус
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
и, повернувшись к женщине, продолжал, — Ты видишь эту женщину? Я пришёл в твой дом, но ты не дал Мне воды омыть ноги, а она омыла Мои ноги слезами и осушила их своими волосами.
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
Ты Меня не поцеловал, а она с тех пор, как Я вошёл, не перестаёт целовать Мои ноги.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
Ты не помазал Мне волосы маслом, а она помазала Мои ноги благовонием.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
И поэтому Я говорю тебе, что у этой женщины было много грехов, но они прощаются ей, ибо любовь её сильна. А тот, кому мало прощается, мало любит".
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
И сказал Иисус женщине: "Прощаются тебе грехи твои".
And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
Все гости стали говорить между собой: "Кто же это такой, что даже грехи может отпускать?"
And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
