Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane

When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered.

Иуда, который собирался предать Иисуса, тоже знал это место, ибо Иисус часто встречался там со Своими учениками.

And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples.

И вот Иуда пришёл туда, ведя за собой отряд солдат и стражников храма, посланных первосвященниками и фарисеями. У них были с собой фонари, факелы и оружие.

Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

Иисус заранее знал обо всём, что должно было с Ним случиться. Выступив вперёд, Он спросил: "Кого вы ищете?"

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”

Они ответили: "Иисуса из Назарета". Он сказал: "Это Я". Иуда же, предатель, стоял среди пришедших.

They answered Him, “Jesus [a]of Nazareth.”
Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

Когда Он сказал им: "Это Я", они все отступили назад и упали на землю.

Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

Тогда Иисус ещё раз спросил их: "Кого вы ищете?" И они сказали: "Иисуса".

Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?”
And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

Иисус сказал: "Я сказал вам, что это Я. И раз вы ищете Меня, то отпустите этих людей".

Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,”

Он сказал это, чтобы исполнилось сказанное Им раньше: "Я не потерял никого из тех, кого Ты отдал Мне".

that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

Тогда Симон Пётр, у которого был меч, выхватил его и, ударив им прислужника первосвященника, отсёк ему правое ухо. Имя же прислужника было Малх.

Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

Тогда Иисус сказал Петру: "Спрячь меч в ножны. Разве не должен Я испить чашу страдания, назначенную Мне Отцом?"

So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”

Before the High Priest

Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

13

и сначала отвели к Анне, тестю Каиафы, который в тот год был первосвященником;

And they led Him away to Annas first, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was high priest that year.

14

Каиафа и был тот самый, кто сказал иудеям, что лучше, если один человек умрёт за народ.

Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was [b]expedient that one man should die for the people.

15

Симон Пётр и другой ученик последовали за Иисусом. Этот другой был знаком первосвященнику и потому вошёл вместе с Иисусом к первосвященнику во двор.

Peter Denies Jesus

And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another[c] disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest.

Пётр же остался снаружи у ворот. Потом ученик, знакомый первосвященнику, вышел, поговорил с привратницей и провёл Петра во внутренний двор.

But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter in.

17

Привратница спросила у Петра: "Ты, наверное, тоже один из учеников Этого Человека, Иисуса?" Пётр ответил: "Нет, нет!"

Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?”
He said, “I am not.”

Было холодно, и потому рабы и стражники храма развели костер и стояли, греясь у огня. Пётр тоже стоял с ними.

Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself.

Первосвященник тем временем стал расспрашивать Иисуса о Его учениках и учении.

Jesus Questioned by the High Priest

The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.

20

Иисус ответил: "Я всегда открыто говорил со всеми, и всегда проповедовал Своё учение в синагоге и в храме, где собираются все иудеи, и никогда ничего не проповедовал тайно.

Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where [d]the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing.

21

Почему же ты спрашиваешь у Меня? Спроси у тех, кто слушал Меня. Они знают, о чём Я говорил".

21

Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed they know what I said.”

22

Когда Иисус сказал это, один из стражников храма, стоявший поблизости, ударил Иисуса и сказал: "Как смеешь Ты так отвечать первосвященнику?"

22

And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck[e] Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?”

23

Иисус ответил: "Если Я сказал что-то не так, то скажи всем, что не так, а если Я сказал правильно, то за что же ты ударил Меня?"

23

Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”

24

Анна тогда отослал Его, связанного, к Каиафе, первосвященнику.

Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

25

Симон Пётр всё это время грелся у костра. Его спросили: "Может быть, ты тоже один из Его учеников?" Но он отрёкся и сказал: "Нет!"

Peter Denies Twice More

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?”
He denied it and said, “I am not!”

Один из слуг первосвященника, родственник того, кому Пётр отсёк ухо, сказал: "Разве не тебя я видел вместе с Ним в саду?"

One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”

27

И Пётр снова отрёкся от Иисуса, и тотчас пропел петух.

27

Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

28

После того Иисуса вывели из дома Каиафы и отвели во дворец правителя. Было раннее утро. Иудеи не хотели входить во дворец, чтобы не оскверниться, ибо собирались есть пасхальную еду.

In Pilate’s Court

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the [f]Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.

Поэтому Пилат сам вышел к ним и сказал: "В чем вы обвиняете Этого Человека?"

Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?”

30

Они ответили ему: "Если бы Этот Человек не был преступником, мы бы не привели Его к тебе!"

30

They answered and said to him, “If He were not [g]an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.”

31

Пилат сказал: "Заберите Его и судите по своим законам!" Иудеи ответили: "Твой закон не разрешает нам никого предавать смерти".

31

Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.”
Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

Так случилось во исполнение того, что предсказал Иисус, какой смертью Ему придётся умереть.

that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die.

33

Тогда Пилат возвратился во дворец, призвал Иисуса и спросил Его: "Ты — Царь Иудейский?"

Then Pilate entered the [h]Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

34

Иисус ответил: "Ты это от себя говоришь, или тебе другие сказали это?"

34

Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?”

35

Пилат ответил: "Ты что же, считаешь меня иудеем? Твои соплеменники и первосвященники привели Тебя ко мне. Что же такое Ты совершил?"

35

Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?”

36

Иисус ответил: "Царство Моё не от мира сего. Если бы оно было от мира сего, то слуги Мои сражались бы, чтобы Я не был передан иудеям. Но ныне Царство Моё не отсюда".

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

37

"Так, значит, Ты всё-таки Царь?", — спросил тогда Пилат. Иисус ответил: "Ты говоришь, что Я Царь. Я был рождён для одного и послан в мир для одного: свидетельствовать истину. Каждый, кто на стороне истины, прислушивается к Моему голосу".

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”
Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

38

Пилат спросил: "Что такое истина?" Спросив это, он снова вышел к иудеям и сказал им: "Я не нахожу за Ним никакой вины.

Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.

39

Но у вас есть такой обычай, чтобы я освобождал по вашей просьбе какого-нибудь преступника в праздник Пасхи. Хотите ли вы, чтобы я отпустил для вас Царя Иудейского?"

Taking the Place of Barabbas

“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

40

Но они снова закричали: "Отпусти не Его, а Варавву". Варавва же был разбойник.

40

Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
