For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
И был среди них один человек, который был болен тридцать восемь лет.
And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
Когда Иисус увидел его лежащим там и узнал, что он болен столь долгое время, Он спросил: "Хочешь ли быть здоров?"
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
И тот ответил: "Господи, нет у меня никого, кто мог бы помочь мне сойти в воду, когда она начинает бурлить. Когда я пытаюсь спуститься к воде, кто-нибудь всегда опережает меня".
The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Иисус сказал ему: "Встань, возьми свою постель и иди".
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
И в тот же миг тот человек исцелился, подобрал свою постель и пошёл. Всё это произошло в субботний день.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
И тогда иудеи стали говорить исцелённому: "Сегодня суббота, закон не разрешает тебе нести в руках постель".
The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
А он ответил: "Человек, исцеливший меня, сказал: "Возьми свою постель и иди".
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
Они спросили его: "Кто же это Тот, Кто сказал тебе: "Подбери свою постель и иди?"
Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
Но исцелённый не знал, Кто это был, ибо там была толпа народа, и он не заметил, куда пошёл Иисус.
And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
Потом Иисус встретил его во дворе Храма и сказал ему: "Вот, ты теперь здоров. Не греши больше, чтобы не случилось с тобой чего хуже". Человек тот пошёл
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
и рассказал иудеям, что это Иисус исцелил его.
The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
Иудеи же стали преследовать Иисуса, ибо Он сделал всё это в субботу.
The Father and the Son
And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

Иисус сказал им: "Мой Отец всегда трудится, поэтому и Я должен трудиться".
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
И иудеи ещё упорнее стали искать случая убить Иисуса, ибо Он не только нарушил закон субботний, но ещё и назвал Бога Своим Отцом, приравнивая этим Себя к Богу.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Иисус же сказал им: "Истинно говорю: Сын ничего не может совершить по Своей воле, Он делает лишь то, что, как Он видит, делает Отец. Что делает Отец, то и Сын делает.
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Отец любит Сына Своего и не таит от Него Своих поступков, и Он откроет Ему ещё большие свершения, чем эти, и вы удивитесь.
For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
Ибо подобно тому, как Отец воскрешает мёртвых и дарует им жизнь, так и Сын возвращает к жизни, кого пожелает.
For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
Отец никого не осуждает, Он передал суд в руки Своего Сына,
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
чтобы все стали почитать Сына так же, как почитают Отца. Тот, кто не почитает Сына, не почитает и пославшего Его Отца.
That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
Истинно говорю: слышащий Мои слова и верующий в Того, Кто послал Меня, обрёл жизнь вечную и не будет судим, перешёл от смерти к жизни вечной.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Истинно говорю: приближается время, и оно уже настало, когда мёртвые услышат голос Сына Божьего, и те, кто услышит его, воскреснут к жизни.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Отец — источник жизни, и Сыну Своему позволил Он даровать людям жизнь
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
и дал Ему власть быть судьёй, ибо Он — Иисус, Сын Человеческий.
And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Не удивляйтесь этому, ибо приближается время, когда все лежащие в могилах услышат голос Сына Человеческого
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
и восстанут из своих могил. Те, кто вершил праведные дела, воскреснут для жизни, те же, кто чинил зло, воскреснут, чтобы быть судимыми".
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
"Я ничего не могу сделать Сам. Я сужу сообразно с тем, что Мне велит Бог, и суд Мой праведен, ибо Я стремлюсь к исполнению не того, что Я хочу, а лишь того, что угодно Пославшему Меня.
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Если Я Сам расскажу о Себе людям, они могут не поверить Мне.
Testimonies about Jesus
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
Но есть тот, кто рассказывает обо Мне, и Я знаю, что он рассказывает правду.
There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
Вы посылали к Иоанну людей, и он подтвердил, что всё это правда.
Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
Но Я не полагаюсь на свидетельство человеческое. Я говорю вам это, чтобы спасти вас.
But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
Иоанн был словно светильник, который, выгорая, даёт свет, и вы какое-то время с радостью принимали его свет.
He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
Но у Меня Самого есть доказательство о Себе более основательное, чем то, что говорил Иоанн, ибо то, что повелел Мне исполнить Отец и что Я исполняю сейчас, свидетельствует, что Отец послал Меня.
But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
И даже Сам Отец Мой, пославший Меня, свидетельствует в Мою пользу. Но вы никогда не слышали Его голоса и никогда не видели Его,
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
и вы не храните слово Его в сердцах ваших, ибо не верите в Посланного Им.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Вы изучаете Писания, ибо считаете, что через них обретёте вечную жизнь, но эти же самые Писания свидетельствуют обо Мне!
Witness of the Scripture
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

И всё же, вы не хотите прийти ко Мне, чтобы обрести вечную жизнь.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Но Я знаю вас и знаю, что в вас нет любви к Богу!
But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
Я пришёл к вам во имя Отца Моего, но вы не принимаете Меня, если же кто-то другой явится к вам сам от себя, то того вы примете!
I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Как можете вы принять Меня, если приемлете хвалу друг от друга, но не стремитесь к одобрению Единого Бога?
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
Не думайте, что Я стану осуждать вас перед Отцом. Моисей, тот, на кого рассчитываете вы, что он вас спасёт, осудит вас.
Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
Если бы и вправду вы верили в Моисея, то уверовали бы и в Меня, ибо он писал обо Мне.
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
