And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
Законники и фарисеи привели к Нему женщину, уличённую в прелюбодеянии, поставили её перед народом
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
и сказали Ему: "Учитель, эту женщину застали, когда она совершала прелюбодеяние.
They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
Закон Моисея велит нам побивать таких женщин камнями. А что Ты скажешь?"
Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
Они спросили, чтобы испытать Его и обратить Его ответ против Него же. Но Иисус опустился на колени и стал пальцем чертить по земле.
This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
Они продолжали спрашивать Его. Тогда Он поднялся и сказал им: "Тот из вас, кто без греха, пусть первым бросит в неё камень",
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
и снова, опустившись на колени, стал чертить пальцем по земле.
And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
Услышав это, старшие из них стали расходиться, а за ними последовали и остальные; и Иисус остался один с женщиной, которая всё ещё стояла перед Ним.
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
Иисус поднялся и сказал ей: "Женщина, где они все? Что же, никто не осудил тебя?"
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
Она ответила: "Никто, Господи". Иисус сказал: "Я тоже не осуждаю тебя. Ступай, и впредь не греши".
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Позднее Иисус снова говорил с народом: "Я свет в мире этом. Кто следует за Мной, никогда не будет ходить во тьме, ибо свет, несущий жизнь, всегда будет с ним".
Jesus the Light of the World
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Тогда фарисеи сказали Ему: "Всё это Ты Сам о Себе говоришь. И потому мы не можем считать это истиной".
The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
Иисус ответил: "Если Я и Сам о Себе свидетельствую, люди могут верить этому, ибо Я знаю, откуда пришёл и куда иду. Вы же не знаете, откуда Я и куда иду.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
Если же Я сужу о чём-то, то Моё суждение истинно, ибо Я не одинок, а Отец, пославший Меня, и Я судим вместе.
And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
В вашем законе записано, что если двое утверждают одно и то же, то вы должны согласиться с их свидетельством.
It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
Я говорю Сам о Себе, и Отец, пославший Меня, свидетельствует в Мою пользу".
I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
Тогда они спросили Его: "Где же Отец Твой?" Иисус ответил: "Вы не знаете ни Меня, ни Отца Моего. Если бы знали Меня, то знали бы и Отца Моего".
Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
Всё это говорил Иисус, когда проповедовал во дворе храма, стоя возле сокровищницы, и никто не схватил Его, ибо время Его ещё не пришло.
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
И сказал Он им снова: "Я покидаю вас, и вы будете искать Меня, и умрёте со своими грехами. Вы не можете идти туда, куда Я иду".
Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
Тогда иудеи стали спрашивать друг друга: "Он, наверное, убьёт Сам Себя? Ведь сказал же Он: Вы не можете идти туда, куда Я иду".
Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
Он сказал им: "Вы все отсюда, снизу, Я же свыше. Вы от этого мира, Я же не от этого мира.
And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
И потому Я сказал вам, что все вы умрёте во грехах своих. Да, вы все умрёте со своими грехами, если не уверуете в то, что Я Сущий".
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Тогда они спросили Его: "Кто же Ты?". Иисус ответил: "Я То, что Я вам говорил с самого начала.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
Я мог бы сказать о вас многое и мог бы судить вас. Но Пославший Меня истинен, и то, что Я слышал от Него, Я и говорю миру".
I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
Они не знали, что Он говорит с ними об Отце.
They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
Тогда Иисус сказал: "Когда вы вознесёте Сына Человеческого, тогда узнаете, что Я Сущий. Я ничего не делаю по собственной воле, а лишь говорю то, чему Отец Мой научил Меня,
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
и Пославший Меня всегда со Мной. Он не покинул Меня, ибо Я всегда поступаю, как угодно Ему".
And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
И когда Иисус говорил всё это, многие уверовали в Него.
As he spake these words, many believed on him.
Тогда Иисус стал говорить иудеям, которые уверовали в Него: "Если вы будете продолжать следовать Моему учению, то воистину станете моими учениками.
The Truth will Set You Free
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Вы постигнете истину, и истина принесёт вам освобождение".
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Они ответили: "Мы потомки Авраама, и никогда не были ничьими рабами! Как же Ты говоришь, что мы будем свободны?"
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Иисус ответил им: "Истинно говорю: каждый, кто грешит, есть раб греха.
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Раб не остаётся навечно в семье господина, сын же будет там всегда.
And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
И потому, если Сын освободит вас, то вы будете воистину свободны.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Я знаю, что вы потомки Авраама, но вы пытаетесь убить Меня, потому что не принимаете Моего учения.
I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
Я говорю о том, что Отец Мой показал Мне, а вы поступаете так, как учил вас ваш отец".
I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
В ответ они сказали: "Наш отец-Авраам!" Иисус ответил им: "Если бы вы были детьми Авраама, то делали бы так, как он.
They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Вы же пытаетесь теперь убить Меня, Человека, говорившего вам правду, услышанную от Бога. Авраам этого не делал.
But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
Вы поступаете так же, как ваш отец". Тогда они сказали Ему: "Мы не незаконнорождённые. У нас один Отец и имя ему — Бог!"
Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
Иисус ответил: "Если бы Бог был вашим Отцом, то вы возлюбили бы Меня, ибо Я от Бога, и вот теперь Я здесь. Я пришёл не по собственной воле, это Он послал Меня.
The Children of the Devil
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Почему же вы не понимаете, что Я говорю? Только потому, что не можете принять Моего учения.
Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
Вы произошли от отца вашего, дьявола, и хотите исполнять его желания. Он был убийцей с самого начала и никогда не склонялся на сторону истины, ибо в нём самом нет правды. Когда он лжёт, то это получается у него само собой, ибо он и сам лжец, и порождает ложь.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Но лишь потому, что Я говорю правду, вы не желаете верить Мне.
And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
Кто из вас может обвинить Меня в грехе? Если же Я говорю правду, то почему вы не верите Мне?
Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
Тот, кто принадлежит Богу, прислушивается к словам Божьим. Потому-то вы и не слушаете Меня, что вы не от Бога".
He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
В ответ Ему иудеи сказали: "Разве не правы мы, когда говорим, что Ты самаритянин и одержим бесом?!"
Before Abraham Was, I Am
Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
Иисус ответил: "Я не одержимый, но Я чту Отца Моего, вы же бесчестите Меня.
Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
Я не ищу для Себя славы, но есть Тот, Кто ищет славы для Меня, Он же и судит.
And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
Истинно говорю: кто следует Моему учению, никогда не умрёт".
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
Иудеи сказали Ему: "Теперь мы уверены, что в Тебе бес. Авраам и пророки умерли, а ты говоришь, что кто примет Твоё учение, избегнет смерти.
Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
Разве Ты превосходишь величием отца нашего Авраама! Авраам умер, и пророки тоже умерли. Кем Ты Себя делаешь?"
Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
Иисус ответил: "Если бы Я сам восславил Себя, то это бы ничего не значило. Но Меня восславляет Отец Мой, про Которого вы говорите, что Он Бог ваш.
Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
Вы никогда не знали Его, а Я знаю Его. Если бы Я сказал, что не знаю Его, то был бы таким же лжецом, как и вы. Но Я знаю Его и исполняю то, что Он говорит.
Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
Отец ваш Авраам рад был, что увидит тот день, когда Я приду: и увидел этот день, и возрадовался".
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
Тогда иудеи спросили Его: "Тебе нет и пятидесяти, а Ты видел Авраама?"
Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Иисус ответил: "Истинно говорю: ещё до того, как был Авраам, Я — Сущий!" Они набрали камней, чтобы бросить в Него,
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
